Great location in the heart of Auburn Old Town. Inside a cramped dining area and narrow bar, but it works. There's a more spacious patio area outside though. With my group of four we had about seven different beers of theirs, all of them great to excellent. The service was good with a knowledgeable and timely server. The food and beer selection was about average for a brewpub. On the food side all the servings were large. I had the Ruben, which was huge and delicious. My friends had the andouille, fish and chips and a salad. Everyone agreed that the food was good but not worth the higher prices. The beer was priced reasonable at around $4-6 pint.

Finally got a chance to check this place out. Dropped in late morning on a Sunday, gf and I were quickly seated and attended to. We opted to take on the "everything on the board" sampler to see what this place was all about. There was a full scale of styles from light to dark, malty to hoppy, all were solid. I actually found myself drawn most to the Belgian style offerings, basically the polar opposite of my usual preferences. Our server was very friendly and happily gave us a detailed run down of the beers on the board both before we ordered and when we had them in front of us. We were still full from breakfast so we didn't order food, but everything that passed our table looked great. It's got a really comfortable feel and it seemed like there were a fair number of locals meeting up there to grab food and a pint. Some of the other breweries in town garner the majority of attention, but this spot shouldn't be overlooked.

Outstanding example of a pub/restaurant that is the face and place for a brewery. Lovely picturesque small California town that is very much worth the pull off from I-80 between Reno and Sacramento, In the heart of El Dorado wine country and nearby to a number of top end craft breweries as well. Stopped and had a Sunday brunch where the food was great; the people were great and the beer was excellent...think Coffee along side of a Cacao Imperial Porter on Cask with Vanilla Beans. Breakfast of Champions! Manager and wait staff very exceptionally pleasant and all took some time to speak with my son and I, talk beer, talk about the area and the brewery, asking about any special requests...Despite being a pretty busy breakfast/brunch crowd...everyone seemed relaxed and enjoying being there...customers and crew. Manager pulled me out a brewer signed bottle of Zin barrel aged barleywine for an evening sip after return home. It doesn't get much better than this. Highly recommended.

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon, had the standard stuff on draft plus Two aged in Four Roses bourbon barrels. Amazing, and we got a growler to go!

This was stop #5 for my wife and I on a 21-day pub-crawl from Michigan to N. CA and OR. This brewery visit was to have dinner and to try their beers. The pub is situated in a quaint downtown area with an address that did not translate well in our GPS. We ended up a block away, but a few minutes walking allowed us to find the building.

We were seated in a booth in the dining area, and we promptly ordered a flight of samplers of all 9 of the beers that were available, as well as ordering our dinner choices from the numerous selections on the menu. The place was not busy so we received very good service.

The beers were all brewed very well to style, and some were noted as being above average in their category. Overall, we rated the beers at a grade that was just short of a B minus. Our food was also above the average that is found in most brewpubs, so this place does a very good job overall.

We didn’t have time to explore the quaint downtown area after our brewery visit, so if we’re ever back in this town again to do that, we’ll definitely stop in this pub again.

Fun little brewpub in Old Auburn. Very nice atmosphere and great selection of their own brews. I got a sampler flight of everything they had on draft, was an amazing value and i got to try 10 of their brews. I had an appetizer from them, some sweet potato fries which were great, wish I had some food from them. Ive heard goods things about their food and all the stuff I saw looked great. They cater to the craft beer crowd with cask nights and beer club thats gets rewards. I would recommend getting a reservation if your going on the weekend because it can be very busy. Overall, great place to stop by, eat, and a grab a beer.

Around 10 beers on tap, all very hoppy. Make reservations if you plan on eating there at dinner time we had a 45 minute wait, but that gives you time to hit the bar socialize with the other patrons. Very good beer, but expect some hops.

I had the Black and Bleu burger and fries, which was outstanding. My wife had a salad and an order of seasoned sweet potato fries that I could those every day.

Right off I-80, don't miss out!

Auburn Alehouse has been around for a few years now. I remember visiting when they first opened and it seems that the quality of the brews has been kicked up a notch.

Long bar and a separate sort of area for the tables in the restaurant. It always seems to be pretty crowded when I'm here, probably because I usually stop in on weekend afternoons and evenings. The bar is nice, lots of various growlers from many different brewpubs to look at behind the bar, along with a couple TVs to watch games. The interior is pretty nice all the way around, and there's a little deck out in the back and to the side as well. Lots of wood and the brewing area is kind of hidden in back along the walk back to the restrooms.

Beer has been getting better and, in particular, their hoppy offerings (Gold Digger, Fool's Gold, PU 240) have been improving in quality and in selection as well. I usually try to order something new every time I'm here if they have new beers on tap, and often they do. Otherwise, the hoppier beers are their go to beers, at least for me.

Service has always been just fine, competent and relatively quick. No complaints whatsoever.

Right off the freeway (I-80) and definitely recommended if you're driving between Tahoe and Sacramento, or vice versa. Growlers available as well. Very solid spot.

My friends and I stopped by on the way back from Tahoe. Took awhile for us to find it since apparently there's a downtown and old town Auburn, and this brewpub is in old town. Inside the restaurant is quite nice, wood & brick combination on the wall with tanks in the back. Well designed posters of the different beer logos are everywhere. I had the IPA and the independence day ale while my friends got the imperial IPA and the pale ale. The beers range from average to good. The food was fantastic though. The fries are supposedly beer battered but what makes them great is that I taste garlic powder in it. They also have the option to upgrade to sweet potato fries for only a $1. Price-wise is about average for a brewpub. Not bad at all, I would definitely visit this place again.
