On the pour it has a rich deep brown color and produced a medium sized head. The heads fades to a small frothy coating while leaving a bit of lacing.
Aroma doesn't really appear any different then your standard porter. Hints of roasted malts are dominate with subtle aromas of coffee and cocoa.
The taste has plenty of roasted malts perhaps chocolate and a bit of smoke.
Drinks a bit course and doesn't flow across the palate easily/
The alcohol is the only thing I see thats amped up here, everything else is pretty standard I'm afraid.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a footed tulip

A: Black. Pours a 2 finger, foamy, brown head. Settles slowly and unevenly. Plenty of spider web lacing.

S: Malt, dark chocolate is the most prominent characteristic.

T: Bitter pecan shell, unsweetened dark chocolate, charred malt.

M: Hearty body, with a bit of a bitter finish.

D: Sip and enjoy.

Atmosphere is pretty good. Substantial foamy head, and some thick persistent lacing. Nose is malty and chocolatey. Unsweetened dark chocolate with some bitter toasted malt grains. Overall, this is a pretty good quaff.
