The beer smells of an earthy red wine and berries

The flavor follows of cranberries, blackberries, cherries. It's a medium plus tart quality without too much to back it up. There's apple cider vinegar tart. A light clean finish.

An earthy and reasonably complex beer, but I really could have used more aggressive fruit qualities.

Fantastic beer, was probably better fresher but still great. I don't regret going after it.

Pours a dark red/black with a slight pinkish hue on the head. Head is not think but gives a decent half inch head.

S- super tart. Sharp fruit with a good dry finish.

T- tons of black berry. Super sweet and sour. Lots of dry wood and oak. A slight bitter ness on the back end that makes the sourness a little tamed. It literally tastes like those blackberry warheads that I used to eat as a kid, so it is slightly nostalgic.

M- medium body with a mid level carbonation. The sour ness of this beer is tamed a little bit by the woody finish.

O- an amazing lambic. As far as a blackberry beer goes I can't imagine this getting any better. The taste is definitely the highlight of this beer. Still seek out in the future.

This is a tricky beer to rate.

It came out a few years ago and I never had it fresh. I has been a personal whale of mine since I got into the trading world and was lucky enough to randomly try some because of circumstance.

The beer is all about the nose. It reminds me of raspberry pie. Jammy is the most used term and it's on point. There is something else there, like a pepper or something towards the backend of the smell, but it blends perfectly with the brilliant black raspberry.

Taste was basically a stellar but clear aged fruited american wild. It has the same issues that older RR bottles have, but I think this has aged a much more gracefully.

In short, I have a habit of hating on beers that people want because they rarely live up to the hype. This beer is clearly past its prime, but one of the few beers that I've been more interested in seeking out after I've actually tried it.

Side by Side with VSB, Fencerow, Black Raz Bu
Thanks Tim for bringing this long time want

A - red, brown, pink colors here fairly opaque. Small foam head that recedes back into the glass.

S - One of the most natural and delightful smelling beers. Fresh black raspberries and funk here. Like someone picked them fresh blended them and presented it in front of you

T - Taste follows the nose here and definitely edged out VSB here. Tons of black raspberries tart acidic funk and a smooth finish

M - Light bodied crisp and clean, good amount of carbonation here

O - Overall this edged out VSB, although my first bottle of VSB tasted better than the one opened at this side by side.

Thanks again Timmy
