A 4.5% Brett grissette? Sign me up! On tap at the Hollywood location last night.
Pouring a clear yellow with a dense white head with good retention and nice lacing, this looks great! The nose is wonderful. A mild Brett derived clove character up front with a grainy, rustic saison base and a little yeast make for a great nose. There is also a blend of a mild tropical fruit( pineapple and floral papaya) that really brightens up the nose. The palate opens crisp, mildly tart(a Brett acidity?) And with the blend of clove, grain and pineapple. Fruity and floral, the finish is mildly bitter, reminiscent of cloves and has a touch of honey. Light in body and with medium high carbonation, this beer does feel a little watery, especially until it warmed up. An excellent effort.

On draught at Bailey's, Brett Grisette is clear gold with a small white collar, basically still. Served in a small snifter.
Smell is clove and tropical fruit esters, banana.
Taste is similar, a touch grainy, a lightly acrid finish, but pretty clean farmhouse style. Rather light overall, less so then the nose.
Mouthfeel is light and watery.
Drinkability is fine, a light estery beer. The brett lingers faintly on the aftertaste, and is mostly just fruity esters here; none one to seek out if you're looking for funk. Good though.
