On tap at Laurelwood on 40th, written on the board as their current seasonal beer. Served to me in a pint glass, color is black but some light gets through around the edges, with a good inch of fluffy off white colored head.
The nose is filled with sweetened chocolate, a good kick of wet coffee grounds and some slight roasted malt char.
Very smooth chocolate and coffee flavors rush over my taste buds leaving a nice combination of coffee, chocolate, and dry roasted graininess. There is a bit of grassy hop that is perceivable as well but is subdued by the dark malt flavors.
Nice medium bodied porter. Very easy drinking beer from Laurelwood, smooth and tasty. A nice surprise.
