Deep amber-brown color. Looks legit as an imperial. Hazy, unfilteredness. Good. Barely off-white lice, mixed fine.
Smell is clean, lovely, mild, to-type. What's not to like?
Taste: nicely balanced, very hoppy. Some marijuana funkiness.
Mouthfeel is good, rich.
Finish is mostly good, consistent - just a rough edge of bitterness, something that didn't quite come together.
Not a bad option at all.

22oz bottle served in a large mug. Date stamp on the bottle is 3/??/15.

Pours murky amber with a medium head and medium carbonation. Smell is old hops, unfortunately. Musty old rotting hay.

Taste is similar, although a little more interesting.Slight floral and citrus notes, aside from the vague bitterness.

Mouthfeel is thickish and soft. Overall, disappointing, but probably just past its prime.

Bought another bottle out of respect for Laurelwood (and lack of clear memory about my first experience). This one's dated 4/27/16, so it's only about a month old. If they're still using the same dating convention, the last one was about four months old. I also didn't pour completely (due to the huge head). If it's significantly different than the first review, I'll change my scores.

Pours clear darkish amber with a huge head, very slowly dissipating, medium carbonation. Thick lacing. Actually nice looking. Smell is old wood and vegetation, forest floor after a rain.

Taste is not particularly bright, dense bitterness and not a lot of other stuff going on, but not unpleasant.

Mouthfeel is the same. Overall, noticeably better than I previously reviewed it, but not a great beer. I'm updating my scores to reflect my opinion of the fresher version.

Fabulous aroma of big flowery hops with a spicy scent and a touch of honeysuckle. Attractive appearance with orangey amber color and a lively head in the Pilsner glass. Lots of foam and lacing, and sudsy mouthfeel.

Lots of sweet malt but more thin and sharp. This is plenty bitter to start, and it increases to a crescendo. Serious mango tang with the burnt pineapple note. Big blast of hops. This gets pretty acidic after some sipping. Starts out sweet, but has a harsh aftertaste.

This batch is pegged at 9 percent. Sippable for the intense hop flavor, but not one to merrily gulp. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Malt & Vine in Redmond.
