Cloudy orange hued amber, dirty white head, pretty thick and dense, good retention with touches of lacing.
Nose is rich slightly toasted caramel malt, some fruitiness to the nose, and little hints of grapefruit like citrus, those nose thought is all about that malt.
The taste is noticeably more hoppy than the nose implies, it’s the first thing that hits; in a resin sort of way, that gives way some sap that then goes right into malty goodness; it is very lightly sweet but offset by the hops and the toasted character of the malt.
Medium body; drying and clean, little bit of chewiness from the hops; lingering earthy like and slightly piney bitterness.

20 day old can poured into a pint glass. Nice caramel head settles quick into a patchy and bubbly crown, gorgeous burnt orange and dark copper color that is fairly clear. The nose is all malt, some sour citrus, and maybe a nutty note hiding in there. The taste is a classic red ale, bitter hop up front offset by some delicious nutty malt in the middle and back end, with a slightly metallic and sweet almost woody and earthy finish. The mouthfeel on this red ale is surprisingly full and silky, with a moderately dry finish.
Well done red ale, and while could have some more flavor complexity, I am impressed with all other factors. It is very drinkable and a great pairing with seafood this time of year!

Look: Deep reddish amber with an off-white billowing head that leaves behind good lacing as it settles
Aroma: Freshly baked bread, light floral notes (rose), some caramel, earthiness, some dried fruit, and a little citrus, mainly orange
Taste: Follows the nose but huge bready taste up front along with earthiness (wet soil, fresh rain smell), then comes some caramel-like sweetness kept at bay by more floral and citrusy hop notes. A light hop bite keeps things crisp on the finish and not all that dry either
Mouthfeel: Silky smooth, medium carbonation, a really full body on this one and a very clean finish
Overall: I’m digging this one quite a bit and haven’t had it this fresh (4wks old) in some time which influenced my purchase when being stuck in my usual bout of indecisiveness. A really good take on a red ale – a style I love when done well and definitely malt driven – these seem to further fall into ‘hop-forward’ or ‘malt-forward’ subcategories and this is in the latter. Tasty and recommended

Can from Trader Joe's.
A clear red with a dense, beige head with good retention and nice lacing, this looks great. The nose is a blend of caramel, toffee, bitter pine hops, orange peel, a little honey and burnt sugar. Sweet candied oranges. The palate opens mildly sweet with some bitterness, pine and grapefruit being most noticeable. There's caramel, toffee, dark honey, sweetened lemon peel, candied orange and some pine. The mid palate is a little rough, a hair chalky. Drying yet sweet on the finish, this beer is medium light in body and moderately carbonated. Solid.

Laurelwood seems to have positioned this in the market as a red IPA. That is good for many more than me.
Looks fine with a full foam and a clear red bod. Northwest hops make it to my nose first, but fruity malt is there enough. Not so in the Taste as the hops take over. Finishes dry. But OA, not my cup of tea.
My first from Laurelwood and their website shows dedication to their craft and The friendliness of their pubs. Multiply that its other dedicated brewers and you get why Portland has pound for pound packed such a punch.

Nice brownish red appearance with white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a mild malt. Taste is also a mild slightly sweet malt that is very refreshing.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a fairly dark burnt orange color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Sly lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of caramel/toffee malts to a slick sweet grassy to citrusy hoppiness. Some floral notes.
The flavor blended the aromas together mostly towards the sweet side with a touch of bitterness. Nice aftertaste of the same.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, pretty nice amber ale worthy of coming back to.

A fairly average brew. True Craft body, but the taste was somewhat metallic, with sour, fruity, hints. There was a lack of smell for better or worse. Poured with a nice red-gold tint. Bottle was also presented well. Not something I'd go out my way to buy again, but certainly would accept if someone offered a glass.

Copper in color. Tan, foamy head with sheets of lacing. Malty aroma with herbal notes. Medium bodied. Caramel malt with some piney, resinous hops in the finish. A decent beer overall.
