Pours a pale straw color with a quick receding white head, Smell is basically earthy grains. Taste is light maltiness with a nice crisp hop bite. Feel is crisp and refreshing, light bodied, finishes semi dry. Overall for a light beer this is not bad at all. It is thin and lacking flavor,(but we are talking about basically a 3/2 beer) For what it is the ratings do not reflect the quality. High ABV stouts (even crappy ones) get above a 4 if the ABV is Above an eight. I am judging this for what it is. A weak,3/2 beer.

L - Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams Perfect Glass. One and a half fingers of light off white head on an aggressive pour. Fades to a lightly foamy film. Lacing shows on agitation, but quickly returns to liquid. Lots of carbonation showing from the nucleation in the glass that is easy to see through the clear light straw color.

S - Honey and crackers up front. And that's really it.

T - Sweet honey and bready cracker taste follows scent. Maybe even some hints of cornbread. Very very minor crispness in the middle, but really muted and fades fast. The sweetness of the flavor is pleasant, and not skunky at all like some other reviewers have experienced. No real bitterness to speak of.

F - Thin mouthfeel like other light beers, but not total water. A nice amount of minor carbonation. Very easy to drink

O - Overall, this is one of the better mass produced light beers I’ve tried. It actually has a palatable and pleasant (if not straightforward) flavor profile. At this time, I’m not normally reaching for light beers, but if I had to choose a light beer, this would be the choice for now. Perfectly refreshing for outdoors and camping. Recommended for those seeking a mass produced light beer other than the big three American labels.

Look: Pours a crystal clear yellow color with a one finger soapy white head. Head lasts for about two minutes before fizzling away.

Aroma: Clean notes of cornbread and very, very light notes of spicy noble hops.

Taste: Sweet and mild. The flavor follows the nose, mostly just flavors of sweet corn, white bread. It ends on very gentle flavors of slightly spicy, floral hops. No off metallic or sour flavors. Not watery.

Feel: Very light and bubbly, but not seltzer or soda like. The sugar profile gives it some body.

Overall: For a light beer, it's pleasant enough. The flavor is very light and what little flavor it does bring to the table doesn't offend the palate. For a cheap beer it's alright.

12oz bottle best by date Feb 2022 into a nonic pint glass.
L: Pours crystal clear straw yellow with a sudsy white 1.5" head that recedes to edge foam. Minimal lacing. Well carbonated through the entire drink.
S: Light skunky earthy hops, grains, crackery biscuity white bread.
T: Lightly sweet, clean with a non-lingering finish. There is very mild bitterness, lightly toasted pale malt pilsner grains, and somewhat of a crackery biscuit taste.
F: Crisp with a fast finish, it has a substantially clean, crisp light-bodied mouthfeel with a fast and essentially non-drying finish. It is moderately thin with an airy hop presence and a light malt backbone.
O: I first tried this beer in 1986. This is one of the easiest drinking purpose-built LIGHT BEERS on the market. A tasty imported lager with no fruit or yeast flavors, just clean lager. Plenty of class for a light beer and it is excellent in it's style.

Pale, lightly sparkling yellow with a short white foam head.

This is even skunkier than the Stella I had before it, which was surprising enough to me to begin with, at least for a beer I thought I was more familiar with. But here is an even lower quality macro, with a sort of cigarette accent underneath a dry, brown Melba toast-like malt.

The medium-light body has a mild crispness and finishes dry.

Light gold pour with moderate carbonation. Crackery honey malt on the nose. Taste is crisp, lightly sweet honey malt, delicate earthy bitterness is barely detectable. Finishes balanced but towards the sweeter side and grainy. Medium body with pri key carbonation. Overall, nothing special but sure hits the spot on a hot day.

All I know is, when I was 30, in 1998-99 and playing blues/jazz gigs in Seaside, Fl, this was my jam. Tons of it.

L: From the bottle
S: Like a euro lager; grassy
T: Surprisingly flavorful for 3.5%. Grassy, light hops and malt.
F: Thin and fizzy.
O: One of the best readily available light beers.

Transparent, golden trending slightly toward amber. Quickly disappearing head. Has the same slight funk of beers like Heineken and Peroni, with a touch of sweetness (I think from added sugars). Drinks easily with a little more hoppiness than your average light beer, but not much in terms of taste. Feels a little flat and watery, despite the carbonation.

Overall, a decent volume beer with low ABV, but nothing to seek out.

Bottle, in southern Europe. Well, if the ordinary Amstel isn't bland enough for you... God bless!....... Drinkable just because it is wet and cold. At least the ordinary Amstel Lager is somewhat better.

Is there a Light Beer that tastes good? Next to try is Amstel. The pour from two brown 12 oz. bottles into a clear glass liter mug isn’t promising. The beer is almost crystal clear with a hue of bright amber. There's no head, nor lacing to mention. The smell started a little skunky that's the norm for many a European lager, then drifts to bread-like sweetness. There is ample carbonation. The taste is lightly sweet, with just a little hoppiness to the finish. It isn’t much, but it does make the initial sweetness more tolerable. Unfortunately, the body and mouthfeel are like water. A little tastier than some Light Beers it is, but still unsatisfying.

Need an evening starter? Well take notes. Ask the bartender for a Deer and Beer and make sure its an Amstel Light. What better combo than a 3.5% beer to go along with your jagermeister shot to ensure you will kickstart your night without overdoing it. Amstel Light actually has more color to it than many light beers, leaning more to a amber than the transparent golden liquid of most light beers. Taste-wise you get that classic euro-skunk taste followed by a malty breaded taste that is missing from most corn juice tasting light beers. Not much of a smell to it, just a classic beery smell, but boy does it go down. The perfect companion to the stag labeled green bottle liquor.

This one hit me well and good like Agassi serving an ace and nailing a line judge in the junk. Nothing special, but it did the trick like the first time I saw Miranda Kerr in a Victoria’s Secret catalogue.

Ok, I’m outta here.

Has that skunkiness get from a lot of European Light Beers. a heavy bread after taste almost feels like ya ate a few slices pf cheap white bread. Slightly dry mouth feel. an ok beer. I would not go out of my way to drink again. Drink Cold does not taste good when just slightly chill.

I am very disappointed that Beer Advocate gave this beer a Score of 59. Well it deserves a better score than that more like an average or a overall score of 90. Just my thoughts.

Maybe one of the best Light Beers you can get.
Starting with the looks. poured into a Tulip glass, Bright and clear appearance. larger bubbles stick to the side while small champagne bubbles drift to the top. Beautiful Pilsner Color. Yellowish Golden. Minimal to no cap until swirled, Resulting in a thin head. Lacing is nice as it sticks to the glass. Moving along to Smell. The aroma is typical pilsner eske. Rich Malty Euro lager smell, herbal somewhat buttery and roasted nutty aroma. Now talking about taste. This is where the rubber meets the road. First impression I get is Clean Water. Subdued character with no Malt sweetness. As the flavor builds, you get a light pilsner malt. A little old fashioned bread, Buttery, lightly roasted herbal quality. the finish is a kiss of hops. Very clean with a slight woody undertone. Throughout the beer, there is a constant reminder this is a light beer. everything is toned down and muted. As for feel. Very thin, watery and not silky or creamy. I'v found this to be a theme with some european lagers. So not really a point of contention. Overall, Good, Enjoyable Light Beer. There is always a time and place for any beer. I imagine this beer would make a great companion with some deli finger food.

Bought in Bahrain for lack of a better selection. Drank from the can.

The beer tastes malty and is highly carbonated. Not much bitterness in there aside from the typical light pilsnery taste in the finish. Forgettable, yet still satisfying after a day out walking the streets here in Bahrain. I suppose it's done its job then...
