12oz brown bottle. Best by date code on label is 'NOV-2026 5314528J0112'.
Clear, pale straw colored body. One finger of white head with the pour, and this becomes an island and full ring. Leaves behind spots and short horizontal strings of lacing.
Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, and light citrus. A little skunky at first whiff but becomes more grain malt specific.
Taste is toasted white bread malts, light caramel, and lighter yet citrus fruit. Vague and quick ending aftertaste, with a little cardboard. Any skunky flavor is minimal.
Medium mouthfeel. Quick pass through the mouth. Slight tongue sting if the sip is held momentarily in the mouth. Quick bite of bitterness, not much expression of hops. Good carbonation, lots of rising bubbles through the clear body.
Its reward is that it's wet; no much for a flavor or nose expression.

For this type of brew, Euro lager; excellent balance between carbonation, malt, and hop flavors! A truly refreshing beer that delivers an amazing feel. This beer complements just about any type of food and beats the hell out of any American lager that I am aware of.

Not so bad. Unusual as for light beers hoppy bitterness. Malty taste and aroma with hoppy notes.

This is a very refreshing beer. It weigh's in at 95 calories per bottle, and doesn't leave you feeling overly imbibed. It genuinely tastes like a tradtional european lager, and has a tangible hop bite. I prefer this to all the AAL's I've tried. I think I've found my new go-to summer yard work beer. Thanks Amstel.

I don't know why people say amstel light is awful. Maybe b/c it is isn't a craft ipa or something similar. lol.
L: straw/amber, lots of streaming bubbles.
S: Grains, corn or rice funk, grass
T: Slightly sweet w/ a funky aftertaste
F: Crisp, clean, refreshing
O: Not the best out there but not the worst either. Good with pizza, wings, etc during a sporting event.

Poured from a 11.2 ounce bottle into a glass
Look: Approximately half a finger of quickly dissipating white head. Clear yellow in color.
Smell: Not a very fragrant beer. Clean-smelling with a hint of malt.
Taste: Clean and crisp. Typical for a light lager. No hint of skunky flavor, unlike many similar beers in the same price range.
Feel: Light-bodied. Moderately-low carbonation.
Overall: Not a bad inexpensive light beer. Not sure why it's rating on Beer Advocate is significantly worse than other beers that (in my opinion) are far worse.

12oz bottle nest by November 2023
On a hard pour 2 fingers of bubbly white head formed on top of a clear golden body. Some lacing is left.
Aroma is immediately skunks in a weedy sort of way. Not super off, perhaps it Intentional. Some crackery malt in the back.
Taste is very thin with a slight crackery malt as well as that skunks bitterness. Not terrible for being light. Slightly funky right at the front. Does taste like lager beer.
Feel is thin and watery with a slight dryness. This feels like almost nothing if it weren't for a dryness that l is present. Refreshing at least.
Overall it's a Heineken adjacent light lager. Meh, but not bad.

I don't know why the IPA beer snobs are killing this beer. I personally prefer an IPA over a lager any day, however, If you want a light lager, you can't go wrong with Amstel Light. Very refreshing beer. Whenever I bring Amstel light to a party, people respond by saying that they have not had an Amstel in a while. However, for some reason, they are the first to go.
Great summer beer when you want to have a few.
