330ml bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£2.50):
Dark amber with a half-centimetre tall, foamy white head that holds fairly well.

Sweeter than expected initially and with some caramel combined with quite a hop filled, grapefruit and tropical fruits aroma. Pine and a further caramel coming through as well. There is some spice and what I assume is some grain coming through towards the end as well, with some bitterness at the finish.

Sweet, just like the nose indicated it would be but even still the strength of the sweetness took me by surprise. There is a lot of caramel and some strong bitter flavours with some grain and a little alcohol as well. I got a lot of pine and grapefruit too.

Sweet with more alcohol that I would have liked and I felt this could have been better hidden. The balance just didn't seem right on this one with the sweetness and even the bitterness overpowering as soon as you took a drink. Medium body and moderate carbonation but proved difficult to drink.

Not a great Brewdog offering despite the fact it looked and smelt good, sadly these qualities didn't carry through to the taste which was a real disappointment along with the poor balance and mouthfeel of the beer. It was a bit all over the place, hopefully this one doesn't win the prototype challenge as Hobo Pop was better.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2014, so it's rather out of date. Purchased ages ago from the Brewdog webshop and forgotten in a cupboard. Fingers crossed....

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. A dark, hazy reddish-marmalade hue with fine sediment and light carbonation. Yields a decent head of frothy off-white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer.

S: Aroma of vague hops notes with hints of citrus, fruitiness, faint pine, caramel malt, a touch of grain, ale yeast and stewed hops. Rather faded and lacking in focus.

T: Tastes of mild fruity hops and caramel malt with a subdued bitter finish. Notes of sweet caramel, grain, vague citrus, indistinct fruitiness, a hint of brown sugar, ale yeast, stewed hops, faint earthiness and a twinge of oxidation. Quite sweet, followed by a diminished bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and lightly tingly, with soft carbonation and good body. Could do with being livelier, to add texture. Slightly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of sweet caramel, mild fruitiness, ale yeast and cardboard.

O: Well, this is certainly past its best - the hop character is well faded. Looks OK, however the aroma and flavour are a wishy-washy combination of sweet caramel, subtle hop notes and ale yeast. A touch of oxidation in the background. Decent body but could be more carbonated. That'll teach me to forget my beer - d'oh!

Quick notes and ratings:

Floral and exotic hops in the smell, caramel sweetness, vanilla;
Taste starts with a nice crispness, from oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, complemented by some juicy berries (some strawberry, actually), apricots, cherries and exotic passion fruit;
Malts also are kind of dry, a bit sweeter later on with a faint butterscotch and caramel;
Floral, spicy, leafy hops (faint dankness) provide a bitter finish;
Finish gets a bit too rough and dry, punching away the fruity taste and the already weak malts;
Still good, but it feels like it's lacking something
