A: Poured from the 330mL bottle into a pint glass. The beer is a very dark brown color, totally opaque until held to light. The head is a little over two fingers and pure tan, creamy.

S: Coffee and milk chocolate. Molasses. Dark bread. A nice smelling beer.

T: Roasted malt all the way through. A bit of smoke alongside a hint of licorice. Bittersweet chocolate makes an appearance. Finishes with a lot of roasted character and a hint of smoke again.

F: Smooth

Overall: A nice beer with a big smoky kick. This one isn't for everyone, but fans of the smoky flavor will love it. A good drinkable, tasty dark beer.

33cl bottle. Pitch black, with a thin tan head that gives way to a very fine lacing. Smells of dark cherries, cocoa and toffee. The taste is very smooth and well balanced between bitter and sweet, with notes of chocolate, coffee, lactose, honey and some other flavours I can't identify. A damn good sweet stout.

Pours a nice, jet-black colour. Heavy milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and rotated grains smell. Huge milk chocolate taste, slightly sweet, creamy, a nice chocolatey nitro stout, with a slightly bitter and dry finish.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2017. Acquired a little while back from the Brewdog webshop. The label calls it an oatmeal milk stout.

A: Poured into a tulip. A very dark brown colour that appears pitch black in the glass. Yields a large head of creamy mocha-hued foam that lasts for a minute or two before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of roasted grain with hints of dark malt, sweet lactose, brown sugar, mild molasses, subtle dried fruit, ale yeast and a twinge of liquorice in the background. Very nice.

T: Tastes of rich roasted malt with notes of burnt grain, mild molasses, lactose, a touch of dried fruit, ale yeast, faint stewed hops and a whisper of liquorice. A balanced, malt-driven bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and lightly tingly, with soft carbonation and a somewhat insubstantial body for the style. Would benefit from improved creaminess. Aftertaste of roasted malt, sweet lactose, mild molasses and a subtle malty bitterness.

O: A pleasant milk stout with good malt presence. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are great - roasty and sweet. Body is OK but could certainly be thicker; the carbonation is well-judged. Goes down a treat - one for dark beer lovers.

BrewDog Jet Black Heart on nitro tap at BrewDog-Stirling. 4.7% ABV.

Black opaque body with a very good bone colored head.
Excellent aroma.
Near medium body; very smooth.

Near optimal sweet bitter balance. Lots of dark roasted grain, some coffee, no char.

I tried this one at the Canel-Winchester, OH. It poured an opaque dark with no head and no lace. The scent had hints of chocolate and vanilla. The taste had touches of anise and chocolate. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it was a good beer.

Really dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has chocolate malt, quite sweet and milky and a touch of coffee roast. Taste starts sweet with chocolate taste and finishes with roasted coffee bitterness. Light, effervescent body. Overall it's a nice, easy drinking stout but a bit too thin on the body.

Wonderful chocolate flavor with a mild roasted edge and a bit of toasty barley. The lactose is a touch stronger than most milk stouts, but it's well balanced and quite tasty. Find this one if you're a fan of the style.

9.6 ounce nitro widget can, canned on 09/14/17 (Ohio/USA brewed), picked up a 6 pack at BrewDog USA/DogTap Columbus earlier this morning. Served in a BrewDog pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with almost an inch creamy tan head that stuck around for a really, really long time. There's a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like oats, bittersweet chocolate, coffee, berries, and roasted malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some molasses, smoke and earthiness noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's creamy and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. Really easy to drink! Jet Black Heart is one of my go to brews when I stop at BrewDog USA (since they're local to me), and I'm glad this is finally canned! I recommend this to anyone who likes lower ABV stouts or stouts in general.
