Poured from a 12 ounce can into a half-pint glass. Canned 9 March 2017. Can't see what Elvis has to do with it.
4/4.25/3.25/3.75/3.5
A: Ruddy yellow with decent effervesence and short-lived head.
S: Smells incredibly strong of grapefruit rind. Points for power, but so one-dimensionally pungent as to almost (but not quite) smack of artificiality.
T: Tart and malty. Once the absolute resinous bitter initial taste fades, it's strangely lackluster, mostly offering bready malts and a dry finish. More expressed oils and peel than juice, but citrus is always inescapable.
O: Good if you like bitter grapefruit or stiff West Coast pale ales.

Aroma: Moderate grapefruit hop notes up front. Very low background bready malt base. Clean fermentation character. It's hard to get much beyond the pleasant and pithy grapefruit character.

Appearance: A hazy amber pour with a low white head that retains well. Head falls into wispy white lacing that clings to the side of the glass.

Flavor: Moderate grapefruit flavor up front. Firm earthy hop bitterness with a low background bready malt base. Light caramel notes are well-knit into the hop derived character. Balance is firmly to the hop bitterness. Finish is clean and dry.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with high carbonation. Slight hop derived astringency. No alcohol heat or creaminess.

Overall impression: Hard to find a fault with this beer. It delivers on it's intended mission. The grapefruit is complimentary and consistent with hop-derived grapefruit character which makes this beer seem "authentic" as opposed to other fruit beers that attempt to artificially infuse fruit flavor into a base beer. Great job BrewDog!

Pours a medium, bright amber coloration with a medium, fizzy head. Very strong aroma of honey'd grapefruit in the nose, with a little malt coming through as well. Taste follows the nose, with a strong and slightly sweet grapefruit taste, just like honey'd grapefruit, backed up by a bit of biscuity malt and a resinous pine note coming through as well. Finishes with a medium bitterness, the sweetness of the grapefruit actually turning sour in the aftertaste. But in a good way. Light/medium body with lively carbonation. This is quite well-balanced, with a nicely nuanced grapefruit note. A little light-bodied, but makes for a great, easy-drinking yet flavourful, summer IPA.

Getting the most out of the highest citrus flavor from hops, the brewers of Brewdog pump up that jam with a healthy heaping dose of actual grapefruit to give the hops a greater sense of succulence than they can achieve on their own.

Elvis Juice won't exactly sound appetizing, but the beer of that namesake pours with a glowing translucence of amber and orange. Its creamy off white froth foreshadows a radiant citrus perfume with notions of honeysuckle, pastry and chive radiating the nose. Sweet on the early palate, a rich taste of honey, caramel and graham cracker shed slight on the malty underpinnings of the ale.

But in true IPA fashion, the sweetness recedes and the hops tighten its grip on the middle palate. Starting off succulent with tangerine, nectarine and pink grapefruit flavors, a pleasant zing adds a crisp and zesty taste to go along with its juiciness. Mango, apricot and a slight jammy taste comes next before the resins seep deeper into the late palate for a sharp, sappy and highly resinous bittering power commands the finish.

Medium bodied and with the aroma and early palate of "hazy" IPA, but with the drying sensation and bitterness of "west coast" varieties, the ale employs what's best about both worlds and does so with an effortless taste. Crisp, clean and largely irresistible, the beer lingers with a long and bitter aftertaste that's laces with botanical herb, perfumy orange peels, butterscotch and chive.
