I had a sip of this when we visited the Columbus location early this summer, but now we are getting cans up here that are made down there. This is a departure from their usually funky Scottish influenced brews-much more mainstream and easy drinking.

It pours a little dark for an AIPA - deep golden. The aroma is dominated by citrus smells - I believe mostly from adjunct, not hops, but probably both. The taste is very nice, like many of the grapefruit infused AIPAs. This one is actually milder than many and very fruit dominated. The aftertaste is slightly bitter and tart and otherwise clean. This is a very easy drinking brew. I hope it is available year round - I could drink a couple of these now and again.

Recommended.

Poured from the 330mL bottle into a pint glass. Bought at an expat grocery store in Shanghai China.

A: The beer is a dark reddish orange, hazy, with a small off-white head that doesn't last super long.

S: Typical IPA smell, if a bit sweeter.

T: Surprisingly well-rounded, with a good amount of sweetness and a nice subtle fruity taste that isn't too overpowering. Has a good malt backbone that is slightly bready.

Overall: I thought this one would be another overwhelming citrus IPA, but the result was more balanced than expected. A good summer drink.

Poured into a tasting glass.

A: The body is coppery with some orange hues. The head is white, one finger thick, shows little retention but good lacing.
S: The aroma is giant of grapefruit, tangerine and fresh oranges. No green hoppy feels here like resin. Just pure citrus. In the back, a little bit of malt.
T: The taste follows the aroma with a big big grapefruit flavour. There little hoppiness but mild barley taste that wasn't really expected.
M: Body is medium. Carbonation is good enough. Alcohol is unnoticed. Bitterness is very very mild.
O: For a grapefruit beer, the flavour is actually good. But for an IPA, it's not great. Too malty and also no power on bitterness.

Canned on 8/8/17. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a burnt golden with solid clarity; big fluffy eggshell white head that slowly falls leaving nice thick retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have that "artificial" citrus vibe going on, but it still smells decent. Some subtle hints of mosaic hops in the background. The flavors follow the nose for the most part. It's all citrus with a solid hop bite. Grapefruit and tangerines lead the way. It doesn't come across as too sweet at all. Some earthy notes as well. Mild hints of pine and fresh grass in the finish. It finishes juicy. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is great. It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied with active carbonation. It's extremely fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is one of the better "citrus infused" IPAs I've had recently. There are some "artificial" characteristics, especially in the aroma department, but the flavors are bold. It drinks like a beer. It's really refreshing and fun to drink.

Brewed and canned on 7/31/17 from American's armpit, Ohio.
Pours a clear amber, garnet highlights with 1 finger tan head. Fresh squeezed ruby red grapefruit nose.
Taste is sweet grapefruit, floral notes, then more bitter grapefruit. Taste is pretty much one flavor profile but it's done so well.
Crisp mouthfeel, low carbonation but easy drinking.

12 oz can poured into tulip glass

A: Deep caramel amber body with almost no head to speak of.

S: smells like a cross between a blood orange and ruby red grapefruit.

T: this doesn't taste like an IPA at all it tastes like something Boons Fatm would come out with. Sweet, heavily carbonated lots of blood orange flavor but that is about it.

M: medium bodied with a tingly feel due to heavy carbonation.

O: fairly tasty but not much of an IPA. I wouldn't know this was a beer if I was blind folded.

Dull copper body with chill haze, and white head that has a few strong minutes of retention before dissipating to a thin layer.
Like opening a can of fruit cocktail - big pineapple, peach, and grapefruit assault the nose, sweet and floral. Can practically taste it already.
Clean and mellow fruit flavours stay true the aroma, with fully ripe red grapefruit and peach leading the way. Bitter citrus hops make for a dry finish that is just right, begging for another sip. Light body, medium carbonation, and easy drinking, which could be dangerous given the abv - this dog is totally sessionable.

This is a delight to drink, a perfect summer beer, pair it with a burger. Very accessible, even non-beer drinkers might dig this.

(From the Columbus brewery) The aroma is a big punch of grapefruit, and the beer pours a clear amber with a thin white head. There's a full, round grapefruit flavor to start with. This fades into a bit of pith and a lingering bitter finish. Moderate body, with a bit of slickness in the mouthfeel. Overall, this is a solid grapefruit IPA, and I'm glad it's being made close enough for me to get fresh now.

330 ml can. Hazy dark orange color with light beige head. Aroma has caramel malt and orange rind, also some piney hops. Taste has orange peel, pink grapefruit, gets quite bitter and also slightly resiny and nutty. Medium to light body, well carbonated. Overall it's a good IPA with a more classic profile.

12 ounce can, canning date of 8/8/2017 (brewed/canned by BrewDog USA). Served in a BrewDog pint glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy orange/amber color with about an inch and a half off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma a lot, the brew smells like mostly like citrusy hops (grapefruit), along with some orange and bready malt. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, lots of grapefruit/citrusy hops along with some bready malt and a bit of orange. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating and creamy with a good amount of carbonation. Being so close to BrewDog USA is definitely a good thing, and with the locally brewed beers being readily available I know I'll be stopping in quite a bit or buying more of their 6-packs. I certainly can't complain about 4 day old Elvis Juice (picked this up yesterday)!
