Bomber pours somewhat thinner than expected. Still, sits nicely opaque in the snifter. Not a lot of lacing noted, just a few wisps.
Aroma opens with distinct red apple skins. Hints of dark fruits underneath, along with expected dark roasty notes of coffee and bitter chocolate.
Mouthfeel is surprisingly creamy on the medium body.
Taste is fruity, with red apple notes and a substantial dark fruit presence of prunes and figs. Dark roast is subtle, but there are enough hints of coffee and dark chocolate to let you know it's a stout. Grassy hops serve up most of the bitterness. Malt presence is a bit grainy, but adds a nice touch.
I almost rated this a 4.5 for drinkability, but the fruity sweetness becomes tiring as the bottle finishes. Still, not a bad effort.

L: Jet black color, quarter finger brown head, messy lacing, good carbonation.
S: Chocolate, coffee.
T: Coffee, chocolate, slight roastiness. Bitter on the back end.
F: Medium bodied, more carbonated than I would prefer.
O: Nothing special.

Interesting appearance, dark brown, dark red colors to the edge. Not a lot of carbonation to form a head with, whispy and thin tan colored. Has a nutty and chocolate malt aroma.
Taste goes equal parts roasted black malts, but also brown malt and a nuttiness you see from other styles than an imperial stout. It is very smooth, not aggressively hopped kind of stout.
Its not a bad beer, those who want more ooomph in their Guinness kind of stouts might be into this.

Great flavor and nicely balanced for a less boozy 8% Imperial Stout.
