Notes:
Dog H is our latest liquid milestone, brewed to celebrate our eleventh anniversary. So what else could we do but turn it up to that number?
Captivating dark malts, Naga chilies, cacao and coffee. And then cognac. Dog H keys into the Auld Alliance thanks to the influential embrace of French brandy. This is barrel-ageing done right.
The result is a compelling beer with flavour peaks as high as the Alps. Enjoy it now or keep it for a decade. Dog H will reward you at the end, either way. Bon Anniversaire indeed.

330ml bottle from Brewdog.com (£7.70):
Jet black with a small, mahogany coloured surface lacing that was bubbly but disappeared pretty quickly; about as good as you can expect from such a strong beer. It's strong on the nose with dark, roasted malts & a little sweetness with chocolate, faint vanilla & caramel all showing along with some alcohol grain & coffee sneaking in at the end; definitely complex on the nose. The taste is even stronger with tonnes of dark chocolate, malts & grains, a lot of coffee & warming alcohol too, falling just short of overpowering. It's boozy & full bodied with some vanilla sweetness & a couple of darker, dried fruits making an appearance, namely prunes & raisin. It's a softly carbonated & thick offering that's fairly well balanced too, there's less alcohol showing than you'd expect.
