Big diacetyl aroma with notes of passionfruit hop. There really shouldn't be this diacetyl.

Hazy, pale gold colour with a small, short lasting white head.

Like the aroma I get plenty of soft malts with a hit of passionfruit. The diacetyl is toned down but still present. Nice solid but understated bitterness. It is decent but the diacetyl is an obvious fault.

Medium-low boy with moderate carbonation. Crisp, clean and refreshing.

It's a decent drop but it has a serious technical flaw which lowers its score. The diacetyl is too high in the aroma and flavour (even though it tastes okay). Easy enough to drink with a nice low ABV.

Poured into stein. Served cold. Taken from notes and reviewed on 10-12-2009.

Appearance: Yellow hazy brew with sizeable white head that collapses quickly. Unperceived effervescence and showing mild head retention and lacing. Very average.

Aroma: Medium high to high strength. Very grassy, hoppy and "fresh" with notes of lemons, tropical fruits and grapefruit. The Kiwi hops aren't really coming through as much as i would have liked, instead we get Amarillo dominating the overall aroma profile.

Taste: High strength. The profile is hoppy, vegetal-like and citrusy with notes of peach, kiwi and grass. Balanced but not as complex as i would have liked. Decent.

Palate: Low carbonation, acidic, medium high to high bitterness, some astringency, medium body. I like it.

Drinkability: Enjoyable, pairs well with pasta dishes and has average price quality ratio. It is not unique or overly charismatic. Wouldn't really call it an EPA to be honest, it should read "American Pale Ale".

A: Blonde! With a rich and white head that leaves a lot of lacing.

S: A flowery and citric smell from the hops. And a little pine tree and malt as well. A fresh and inviting smell.

T: The hops from the smell are there. There is also a nice sweetness from the malt in the background. The aftertaste got a nice and bitter bite.

M: The CO2 is moderate. The feel is quite thin (without being a problem).

D: Ok. It is warm outside. I have been working all day and there is a good football (soccer) game on tv right now. This beer worked just fine, and it could be a good session beer.

Picked this one up in Barcelona. 330ml bottle.

A - Pours a cloudy yellow body, similar to a Belgian witbier. Pretty nice fluffy white head and decent retention.

S - Smells similar to their Punk IPA: grapefruit, orange, maybe a bit of pine. Some sweet caramel hints as well.

T - Starts out with a nice citrusy hop bite. A good amount of bitterness, followed by a very mild sweetness and some caramel and bread notes. The finish is dry and bitter, with hints of pine, similar to that of an American pale ale. Pretty good for what it is.

M - Fairly light body to it. Not too carbonated and a little dry. Drinks very well. No hint of alcohol.

O - Overall, this is not a special beer yet still an interesting one. It's not super tasty or complex, but it manages to pack a surprisingly strong hop kick while still being low on alcohol. Well, if it's not an experiment, it isn't BrewDog!

There are definitely a few chinks in the BrewDog armour and this is one of them. A totally underwhelming pale ale. Surprisingl, given that this is BrewDog, evrything about this beer is quite weak. The nose is faint tropical fruits with a strong hint diacetyl sadly. The flavours are also a bit muddled with nothing really making a statement. This leaves nothing but bitterness in the mouth and disappointment in my soul.

Poured into a pint glass. A very slightly hazy straw colour with a persistent one finger fine off white head. Some foamy lacing.

Strong hop aroma. Tastes of fruity grapefruit hop up front. Mild malts with a slightly astringent hop finish.

Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and refreshing.

Pours a clear, pale gold color with two fingers of solid white head. Sporadic lacing left on the glass.

Scent consists of some hops and light citrus.

Lots of hop bitterness here. Some lemon/lime citrus flavor in the background. Bitterness keeps on kicking, lasting well beyond when you swallow, assaulting the tastebuds.

Not quite to style, but certainly a 'punk' pale. Lots of attitude. Wouldn't really recommend drinking a lot of it, unless you want to hop shock your tastebuds.

A 33 cl brown long-necked bottle with a label in purple and white writing. Looks kind of modern.

A: Slight hazy golden with an enormous white head that dissipates slowly into great lacings.

S: Floral hops, citric notes (surprisingly piney for beeing an Ale from the "Old world"). Faint malt, caramell.

T: American-styled floral hops, pine and citrus. Some bitter notes as well. Very faint malt.

M: Long aftertaste with nice bitterness. Body as well as carbonation is medium.

D: Goes down smoothly. Refreshing.

I've liked several beers from brewdog and i'm looking forward to this as well.

Great looking beer, quite dark, almost amber. Clear with great carbonation, good fluffy head. Smell is less dominant than expected: it's a bit of herbs, grass and some sort of red berries. Taste is not that sweet like it's suggested on the label.
It's light and crisp.

Very balanced with the malts are bitterness and fruityness from hops. Very pleasant.

T - Monodimensional bitter hops and a lot of it but no complexity - slight fruity notes actually

M - Not bad for a single ale but a bit flat like so many of them, finish too dry

D - Too dry not agreat taste not iI am taking to this style actually

Okay, thanks to the kindness of those good people at Brewdog, I'm sampling this from my own fridge. It's still very good for a 4% pale ale, with a solid hoppy taste and aroma, just not quite as good as it was on draught in its homeland. Carbonation is just right and it slips down easily, a bit too easily. Well, the label stated it was "going to get me into a lot of trouble", and if I had more of them I've no reason to doubt this. Trouble can be fun.

I must admit im a big fan of this breweries labels and spiels on the labels and their innovations to try new things as i do like trying new beers thats for sure anyways the beer pours a pale amber hue with average carbonation that leaves a fast vanishing one finger head with sporadic lacing, the aroma is lots of hops mainly with a passionfruit hint to them,i must admit i thought the taste would be alot more complex after the smell but unfortunately i was wrong it has a pretty straightforward thin mouthfeel with a light subtle passionfruit hoppy taste that finishes very smooth but to be honest abit too smooth for my liking and i dont get too much malt taste at all just a thin hoppy taste i think if this beer was better balanced out i would like it more and have seen better examples of the style but in saying that its easy enough to drink just wouldnt hunt it down.

Appearance: Golden blonde colour with a substantial foamy white head that has pretty good retention, and lots of carbonation.

Aroma: Lots of grass hops, much like a good German pilsener. There is a fruit aroma, with oranges and lemons, supported by creamy sweet malt base.

Taste: There is a mild earthy bitterness from the hops at the front, with hints of grassy straw. Hints of citrus come through in the middle, offering a slightly sharp lemon, back-to-back with a biscuity maltiness. The finish is bitter and lingering.

Mouthfeel: Light, crisp, and carbonic.

Drinkability: A nice light, refreshing beer. Very drinkable, and enjoyable. The nose is very similar to a Pilesner but when you taste it you soon realise that it is a solid pale ale. Another great beer from the BrewDog stable.

A clear light amber beer, a nearly white head, lot's of lacing.

A complex smell, sweet raisins, grape and sour milk, cheese, yeast and a bit of old closed closet.

The taste has much, maltiness, biscuits, some sour lemons and bitterness in abundance.

Rather high carbonation, a very dry feeling.

A good bitter beer, to enjoy slowly.

A slightly hazy yellow... just a hint of orange / amber. The slightly lumpy head recedes pretty quickly, and laces as it goes.

The smell is interesting! Reminded me a bit of the Hop Stoopid I had a couple of days ago. A bit citrus-y, maybe some pine. It even smells a little bitter.

The taste is kind of weird... maybe surprising's a better word. It's got a peppery taste without the burn. Def. a bit of lemon grass like someone else mentioned. There's also, I think, that harsh bitterness you get from something like dandelion stems. Not so good there. Unfortunately, that's kind of the aftertaste, too. It does have a strong after-taste / feel... never had anything quite like it.

Smooth feel, carbonation is good. A bit too bitter for a blonde (or for me at all), I think. Well, the aftertaste is too long/bitter, anyway. Really leaves an airiness over the whole tongue and back of the throat.

It's drinkable, for sure, but not in great amounts. Good to try, but this'll probably be my first and last Trashy Blonde.

330ml bottle 4,1% Abv.
BB 02/08/2012
Served cold in a Brewdog Teku glass.

Appearance: Good looking pale ale, deep golden body (a few small particles) topped by a good sized white head that lasts well and leaves some good lace.

Smell: Not the best nose around, one needs to strain to get anything. Biscuity malt, light grain, some fruit (tangerine and granadilla), lemon peel and some freshly cut grass.
Warming improves things quite a bit - just edging the grade up a level.

Taste: Quite a bit better than the smell. Initially sweet biscuity malt followed by some pleasant fruity notes (citrus, lemon peel and granadilla), rounded off with a very unexpected (but welcomed) bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Light body and slightly over carbonated.

Overall: A pleasant beer, a little low on flavour for me, but a good one for a hot day

From: Premier Wine & Spirits

A: Clear golden body boasting three fingers of white fluffy head. Retention is poor and leaves good lacing.

S: Loads of bready malts, citrus fruits and hops. Smells more like an American IPA.

T: Malt base with a fair amount of citrus and pine. Quite hoppy

M: Light bodied and high carbonation. Water like texture and leaves a bitter finish.

D: Great beer and I'm very impressed at the flavours produced with such a low ABV. First low alcohol beer I really enjoy.

I got this beer a few weeks ago from my buddy Zimbo. Thanks a lot Craig because this is a good brew.

Poured the beer in a Dutch beerglass the beer looks ok. The beer is somewhat cloudy but not much. Firm white head with light to medium carbonation.

Good smell with the fruity hops very well noticable. The hops also give the beer a slight bitter taste. The beer made me think of the pliny and that is a great comparison. Good beer!
