50cl crowler from Brewdog Glasgow (£5.20):
The body is black & opaque with a small, bubbly head on top that disappears quite quickly. It's a dark but sour nose with chocolate & some vanilla intially followed by a fruit sourness, some cherry & a little red wine with touches of acidity & slightly funky notes seeing things out. The sourness really intensifies with the taste, there's a lot of funk & acidity with red wine & grape flavours upfront; the darker malts & chocolate from the nose are more subdued here. The body is light-medium & obviously very sour & dry with a lot of funk & a tiny bit of sweetness too. It's a nice beer overall but it could have used something a little stronger to balance out the sourness for me at times.
