Very Good
Notes: BrewDog USA partners with Iron Maiden to create a feisty India Pale Lager, citrus-forward with an epically complex balance of malts and hops.

APPEARANCE: Clean and golden with a heavy head of off-white suds. Medium lace.

NOSE: Plenty of citrus hops here, nice touch to this lager. Very pleasing!

TASTE: Good blend of juicy hops and malts. Quite a balanced and enjoyable brew. Run to the hills!

A little too far into the citrus for me.

The BrewDog Advent Calendar Apocalypse day 18
It's weird, you know civilization is on the brink, but people are ignoring it and in fact encouraging the zombies. I will just keep drinking my BrewDog antedotes. Brains brains. They seem to be helping but the Advent calendar has some winners and some not such big winners. This isn't one of the winners.

It pours a nice yellow with a decent little head. It's nice and translucent and looks pretty. The aroma is mildly hoppy. The tasteis just a bit hoppier than lagers usually might be (bad ones). It's very middle of the road - not very sweet, not very bitter. It has a nice hoppy burp. Brains.

Not recommended. I generally would not recommend the style either. I don't know what's up with the end of the world, but some of these brews are less of a pleasure than others. Hopefully their zombie preventing properties are worth the effort. I wonder how it would go with some fresh brains, though.

L-Pours a clear straw golden color with a small lacy head.
S-A bit grain and malt forward up front. There is some depth though. Some piney and fruity hops are present. Maybe some stone fruit, as well.
T- Some nice citrusy hop bitterness with some decent malt sweetness. Not overly powerful in the flavor, but the flavor is pretty nice. Some New England styled hop. Seems dry-hopped. Pretty crispy.
F-Light bodied.
O-A well crafted and easy drinker with a nice pop of flavor. Very sessionable and enjoyable. Not sure I know

From the can in the 2021 BrewDog Advent Calendar, it pours a light golden yellow with a modest white head that slowly reduces to a thin layer. The nose gets citrus with lemon highlights. The mouth gets a light citrusy light malt taste.

Poured a pale yellow with mild effervescence and a floofy white foam head. Scent is fresh, grassy, and herbal. A touch of tropical fruit also lingers on the nose. Taste is a bit subdued with pleasant notes but nothing jumps out. Feel is on the lighter side with a watery sensation. A very approachable IPA!

Bruce Dickinson makes music I love, and beer I like. Couldn't quite figure out the brewing pedigree as Brewdog comes out of Ohio, but I've had another Iron Maiden beer that was brewed in the UK. A multi-national brewer, apparently. This one's a hopped-up lager made "for America." The beer is a straw to gold and slightly hazy pour, with an ample white head. The taste is crisp citrus--at first resinous. Half way through the glass, the depth of flavor disappears somewhat, leaving you with a relatively tasteless citrus rind bite. Good, but not Run To The Hills great.

Pours light and clear. Dank aroma. Big foam. Surprisingly delicious for how clear it is. Almost like a glass of water. Big hop resin body. Slight bitterness fades quickly. Great flavor. Way better than expected.

Canned 08/27/21 Hellcat pours a light straw color with some decent head. It's light citrus aroma is very pleasant. It's buttery lemon taste is nice and refreshing. Easy enough to drink and it leaves some pine on the tongue. Very pleasant and I will look for it fresh.

Single can from Jungle Jim's
Clear golden color with a finger thick white head, good retention.
Aroma has bread and subtle lemon notes.
Taste is not as hoppy as I expected, has a slight sweetness to it.
Light body with moderate carbonation.
I like it.

Very yellow and clear. White head with decent lacing. Nose pineapple maybe. Taste is slightly bitter and slightly citrus, but VERY dry. Ok to good beer. Would not refuse one.

12oz can served in a pilsner glass. Date stamp on bottom of can: 2105 43 10:13

Appearance: Perfectly clear pale gold with a white foamy head, with some strands of persistent lacing.

Smell: Definite citrus aroma (grapefruit, lemon), with a little bit of underlying tropical fruit.

Taste: Citrus hops up front, with a bit of a light bready malt, and a lightly bitter, but crisp finish. There is some lager aspect to the malt here.

Mouthfeel: While there is lots of carbonation coming up through the glass when I look at it, it doesn't quite have that lager crisp snap to it in mouthfeel. It's a little bit sticky with some carbonation, and a bit soft overall.

Overall / Drinkability: The can and the website description for this beer describe it as an India Pale Lager, and it fits that description, although some of the aspects of the lager as muted. The hops do go well with the malt combination, making for something that is pretty close to an IPL....just maybe not the mouthfeel. Interesting, and it probably would go well with food, but by itself I think one is enough.

Banded together over beer, the iconic brands of Iron Maiden and BrewDog team up for a hoppy and crafted ale that is certain to bring both rock fans and beer fans together.

Hellcat teases with a firm and savory malt foundation along with a bright hop spice that carries a sense of bread crust and citrus across the nose. While layering with a golden-chrome body a foggy haze gives the beer a slightly muddled appearance. With the first sip, its the malts that set the stage with notions of light honey, nuttiness, toast and bread crust for a creamy grain sweetness early on the palate.

The middle palate show a swift transition as the sweetness recedes and the hops begin to build. Grains reduce to a crisp and wafer-like base taste as the hops become emboldened with grapefruit, orange and a hint of lemon. Shifting to an herbal taste, the suggestions of lemongrass, lemon pepper, tea and a parsley-like grassiness take the late taste into a decidedly bitter direction.

Trending grassy, herbal and chocked full with peppery resins, the Hellcat finishes crisp, refreshing and with a decreeable hop bite. A long and bitter linger grips the gullet tightly while remnants of savory toasted grains continue to act in support of the hops. The India Pale Lager has a little something for everyone.
