What do you get if you blend Hardcore IPA and I Beat You together and then add even more dry hops?
I Hardcore You of course. This is the return, for a limited time only, of a beer which proved firm favourite with hop heads.
I Hardcore You is a 9.5% Imperial India Pale Ale. After blending these two awesome beers, the beer is then dry hopped another two times.

Had this one on-tap at the good old Local Option, beautifully poured into a tulip glass.
Pours with a nice, rocky, two finger white head that sticks around. The color is a dark copper red, with a haze that lets very little light through.
It smells like a sweet bountiful hop bouquet, with a very nice combination of piney, floral, and citrus aromas.
The brew tastes much like it smells with a dominant pine-hop profile that mixes some grapefruit, lemon, and other citrus notes as well. There is sweetness to the beer, most likely a result of the significant malt backbone to prop up the enormous hop presence. The sweetness is reminiscent of a possible milk sugar addition as well. Overall a very well balance beer considering the complexity of the concoction.
The mouthfeel is pretty awesome - smooth and silky, not much carbonation getting in the way. It works with the flavor profile perfectly. The mouthfeel could be the closest an ipa can come to a cream stout. It works for me.
Overall a delicious beer, but then again so Brew Dog's Hardcore IPA, one of the beers this brew is blended with, and in my opinion the most influential. I have not tried Mikkeller's I Beat You, but in appearance, smell, taste, and mouthfeel this beer matches Hardcore IPA down the line. I haven't tried the two together, but now I really want to.
I definitely recommend trying this if you can, but if it is to expensive or you can't find it, try Brew Dog's Hardcore IPA instead.

330 ml bottle, batch 174, a gift from gunnar, thanks! ABV is 9.5%. Cloudy orangey brown colour, big head, slightly off-white. Intense aroma of fruity and resinous American hops (tropical fruits, citrus, pine). The flavour is intensely hoppy (pine, resin, grapefruit) on a malty sweet (caramellized orange marmalade) background. Bitter finish of course, but not too extreme.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This beat of an IIPA pours a murky
brown tinged amber with a decent head of off white foam that subsides to a
thick ring, light layer, and spotty lacing. Nose of deep and rich caramel malts,
zesty, spicy, floral, citrus, and grassy hops all around in this one---lots of resinous
hoppy goodness. Flavors follow the nose with caramel malt backbone and every
darn hop you could throw at it with citrus notes of pineapple and orange with pine
and herbal notes all around. Very nice mouth feel, slick, smooth, warming, and
lightly coating as well as sticky. An excellent example of BIG done right.
Cheers

My ears are burning, and that’s just the first sip. Surprisingly, the malt still shines through this dense hop bomb. Orange body with a skin of off white head, pungent, almost sour aroma. Taste is very much pine resin, followed by burn. A hop lovers dream.

Picking up this bottle I expected it to be super old but it's still in date drink by July 25th! Either way I only got it for a dollar.
A - Very little sediment in my bottle is nice. A 1/4 inch of sticky head is good.
S - As expected it is less hoppy in the smell and more malt forward but it still smells quite good.
T - Malty this DIPA is very smooth. Not as bitter as I expected and malty so I assume the fresh beer must be a hop bomb!
M - Slightly bitter, with no noticable ABV bite and a good malty body.
If you find older bottles of this discounted pick them up they hold up well!

Look - Dark apple juice body. Thin white head even with strong pour. No lacing.
Smell - Malt. Malt. Malt. Hops are stirred up when swirled.
Taste - Malt. Grass. Wheat. Hard candy. Not bitter until the after taste.
Feel - Medium to heavy body. Carbonation heavier than what look hints. Alcohol is warm but not sticky.
Overall - This is not what I was looking for in a Brew Dog / Mikkeller. Very candied malt. Almost a barley wine and not what I want in an imperial IPA. Fours across the board for the hope I had a bad/old bottle AND would rate well if labelled as a strong ale or barley wine.

L: Hazy brownish amber. 1” white head that leaves Belgian Lace designs on the glass.
S: Rich malt, light fruit and hop aromas.
T: Rich caramelly malt, light fruit and an assertive hop finish. F: Medium full body, medium low carbonation.
O: A full flavored, well balanced DIPA
