The truth. You don’t want to hear the truth. The truth’s no longer out there bubba. Just chicken ass lies. Become a Dogma Disciple. Believe in the birds and the bees. Act crazy, be heavily armed at all times and scream in German. Dogma is an indulgent, decadent and encapsulating scotch ale brewed with 10 different types of malt all blended together with Scottish heather honey. Soak up the sweet nectar like a jackrabbit on heat. This beer is not cool. You may think it is, but that is just a beautiful lie fabricated by clowns and gypsies.

On tap at Mandag i Annen at Cardinal, a leftover keg from Nærbø Ølfestival. Very dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Pleasant malty aroma, notes of chocolate and heather honey. Rich and malty complex flavour, medium sweet, notes of molasses, chocolate and honey, hints of oak and smoke, moderate hops.

I got a can of this from my brother in law out of the Canal Winchester location. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that is leaving some lace. The scent had malt backbone. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with earth and roast base and slight bitter finish. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

Had on tap. So much malt, with intermittent honey, brown sugar, cocoa, chestnuts, booze and raisin. Has a smokey spice on the finish. Looks like a classic wee heavy, though the feel betrays it as too malty like the taste. A good gateway to the style

Look: dark, reddish brown, almost opaque. Thin tan head, vanished relatively quickly. Some legs.
Smell: good but not extraordinary. Malt, caramel, and roasted/umami notes. Honey became more present towards the end.
Taste: In all honesty -maybe I don't know enough about the style- I could've told it was a sweeter imperial stout. Roasted malt, alcohol, soy/umami notes, and caramel. Still, I liked it.
Feel: thick to almost chewy. Carbonation was medium, higher than expected, but that was quite a good thing if you ask me.
Overall: not for summer, but a nice strong, dark, dense brew. Recommended

Appearance: Mostly clear (maybe a hint of cloudiness), deep burnt orange/sienna colour, with a light foam of head that looks creamy victorian tan head and an every so light lace around the glass as the head dissipitates.

Aromatics: I get an ever so lightly roasted caramel malt with added hints of fresh spice.

Taste: I love the intensity of flavour, sweet caramelized honey and malt, with a tad bit of earthy spice.

Feel: it has an interesting almost paradoxical combination of light and heavy. Its creamy lightness as it coats the palate in contrast to its physical weighted character.

Overall: Loved it. Have never really tried a Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy before, and if this style is what they are like then I’ll be trying them more often.

Pours a very dark hazy brown colour with a beige head. Aromas of roasted caramel malt. Tastes of roasted caramel malt with hints of toffee, cocoa & nuts leading to a roasted alcoholic caramel malted finish with medium bitterness.

One of the few Brewdog beers I haven't fallen in love with.

And I think my main gripe is with its contrast.
It looks like a stout or porter, but feels like a light ale.

It's as dark as they come and very malty to the nose.

But lacks the body of what you'd expect from a beer if that character.

From bottle, pours Dark brown with beige head that disapates to a ring. Aroma chocolate, caramel, sugar, toffee and dark fruits. Taste follows the nose, with caramel, toffee, chocolate, slight honey.

Bomber pours out a nice dark, muddy brown, small skin of a beige head. Mild nutty, earthy aroma, hint of savory spice. Taste comes in with slightly sweet malts, light warmth and tingling at the back of the throat. Lingering spicy palate.
