375 ml corked & caged green bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 11.5%. Bottle No. 9861 out of 9987. Very dark brown colour, thin beige head. Aroma of malts, molasses, fusel, dark dried fruits and stale jam. Minimal carbonation in the mouth. Sweet and alcoholic flavour of molasses, dark dried fruits and oak, fairly bitter finish. Warming mouthfeel. Like most other BrewDog Abstrakt beers: Not worth the money. Won’t pay for any more of them myself.

A- This pours a milk chocolate textured brown with plenty of yeast goodness after some gentle swirling. The head is very mellow and becomes a caramel colored ring around the top of the liquid....what is there has excellent retention! Too hard to say what is going on carbonation wise and the lacing is lumbering and oily looking. Nice appearance!
S- Huge rum cake/Christmas cake layers here with plenty of molasses, yeast, deep dark rum, heavy nuttiness, prunes/plums, raisiny dark fruit....figs. Mellow alcohol is balanced out by dark sweet malts that are Port wine like and vanilla oak.....and the finish lingers on and on...
T- This has excellent flavors that follow the aromas and with huge balancing sweetness.....liqueur like molasses, nut creme booziness, yeast, milky chocolate, caramel/toffee richness.....vanilla....smooth vanilla.....this very much has gentle notes of dried dark fruits and almond cream at the finish......it's hard to really put into words the flavors happening here!
M/O- This has to be one of the fullest feeling beers I've ever had and don't know how much thicker it can get! There isn't a chance that anyone would know that this is 11.5%....the carbonation is almost negligent but overall this doesn't adversely affect the quality of the brew. Overall this is a highly drinkable brew and would make an excellent nightcap sipper....if anyone has a bottle of this sitting around still....drink it...you won't be disappointed!

Picked this up at my favorite beer store in Belgium, Dranken Geers. An aggressive pour yields a quickly fading beige head with a dark brown body and minimal lacing. The nose is malty and boozey with lots of dark fruits along with hints of toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, wood, and subtle Port wine. The taste follows suit with loads of dark fruit and caramel malt along with hints of berries, tobacco, Port, butterscotch, oak, and vanilla. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly syrupy with light carbonation and a smooth, subtle warming, sweet finish. The 11.5% ABV is well hidden, although this is still a sipper. Overall, this was a unique beer, but a bit sweet for my tastes...

375ml bottle as a gift (11.5% abv.):
Dark brown, almost black with a thin, bubbly head that is a tan brown in colour and quickly turns to a touch of lacing around the edges.
Sweet with some ripe & dark fruits plus brown sugar adding to the sweetness. There is some grapes and hints of alcohol that smell almost like a fortified wine along with hints of vanilla and port.
Dark, dried fruit with some grapes & a taste slightly reminiscent of red wine that goes with the aging process of this one I guess. There is some mild strength malts with a part nutty, part sweet taste that includes some vanilla. The beer is slightly boozy with some sugar and hints of caramel in there as well.
Medium to full body with quite a sweet and boozy feel although a lot of the alcohol was successfully hidden and the beer had a better balance that expected. Carbonation was fairly subdued and the drinkability was very good with this one.
A really good beer from Brewdog and an excellent first beer from the Abstrakt series for me. Far more balanced than I would have expected from an 11.5% abv. beer, a real pleasure to drink.
