From bottle, Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Fruity nose. Flavors of citrus with floral notes. Light bodied, bitter finish. Not bad could have a few of these.

Format: a solid 330mL brown bottle with an old-school 70s label for a supposedly 70s style ale. Which is funny, because it is an American Pale Ale - which I don't believe have been around for quite that long.

Appearance: pours a vibrant copper-orange colour with a half-finger of off-white head that lasts for a time.

Aroma: some malt sweetness with citrus hops and some stone fruits.

Taste: again nice citrus and sweet biscuit malts here with some more of those stone fruits. Very nice.

Aftertaste: hop bitterness as expected, but also some heavier malt flavours. Very nice.

Mouth feel: light to medium in body with a medium carbonation. Spritely and very easy-drinking.

Overall: another nice APA from an Australian brewery, well worth the drinking. A bit formulaic but very nice and easy drinking. Not bad at AU$66 a case either.

It still possesses some nice subtle fruit notes in the mid palate and is quite a refreshing, but it doesn't have anything too exciting going in terms of its flavour.

Burleigh Heads 28 Pale came highly recommended and being a big fan of your classic American Pale Ales, this was a must try, that deliver okay results.

Pouring a deep golden near copper colour, it has mild yet fruit and malty aroma, the mouth feel is clean but a little sharp on the finish.

It doesn't quite have the same strong floral aroma's and fruity characters a lot of the Australian made APA's have, it leans more on the Australian Pale side with that cleaner finish and a touch citrus to it.

It still possesses some nice subtle fruit notes in the mid palate and is quite a refreshing, but it doesn't have anything too exciting going in terms of its flavour.

It's easy to drink probably not something I would down huge volumes of so it's not sessionable beer but still something worth having a go at.

I don't recall the 70s as being anything really special for beer. So when I took a whiff of this beer upon opening I thought, well ok, now! Sadly, the flavor doesn't follow the aroma. Poured slightly warm with a nice, off-white, foamy, soon to settle head and a bit of lace. Color is a clear amber with a few large bubble trails. Aroma is resin, a hint of butterscotch, toffee, hint of grapefruit. Flavor is malt, some sort of resin, but not the flavors usually sought and associated with better brews. .Body/carbonation are good. Finish is like flavor, some odd lingering flavors. Not a fav.
