A: Hazy, light yellow / straw in color, with a fizzy white head. It shows a lot of carbonation, but this settles quickly to a thin film.
S: Smell is light, citrusy, with notes of hay and a faint barnyard scent, tart and bitter. Not bad but too much subdued to be great.
T: Taste is soapy and bitter, with bready / grainy malts, a large amount of spices, some tartness and a disturbing, unbalanced bitterness. Much complex flavors than perceived from the nose, but not really pleasant.
M: Mouthfeel is watery, light but not really thirst quenching due to the hardcore bitterness. Carbonation is high, a bit too much.
O: A true disappointment, I'm pretty sure de la Senne can do better, this is an unbalanced saison, watery but not really refreshing, which clearly lacks funky, sour characteristics.

i liked this more than others, but its a strange beer. had no clue it was spelt in the bill before i logged in to this one, so maybe that was it, but it didnt have a peppery earthiness like i usually get from spelt, it had more of a lemongrassy aromatic, a little bit bretty really, the yeast was cool and unconventional, but it had some flaws too. perhaps a bit light struck, it smells a bit skunked out, and that comes in just a bit to the taste. so many of these cool euro beers end up not right when we get them here, but im still glad we do, i can what its meant to be anyway. the citrus is robust, but so is the bitterness. its almost bitterness not from hops, or not hops alone, but i cant place it, and with the almost total absence of any hop flavor profiles outside of bitterness, its a strange flavor, especially in the finish, where this is most intense. i find myself wishing for one more layer, be it fruity or yeasty or something, but its almost like the middle is missing for me. love the carbonation, love how dry it is, love the herbal quality to the yeast and the subtle spice hit, but its a little short of the "crushable" moniker it ascribes itself. two or three of these would be plenty. crushable in my book starts around five, but thats details. cool beer to try, but at five bucks a bottle, crushability is also hampered, unless money grows on trees in your yard, and if it does, email me...

Hazy light yellow body with a big øl soft head that gently collapses to a thin covering.

Citrus, melon, floral, a little cracker and musty.

Citrus, bread, fairly pronounced bitterness for such a little beer. Light, tingly, and dry.

Quite a hoppy little guy here. Really nice.

11.2oz bottle. Bottled 10/10/2013 and best before 10/10/2014. Served in a pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a pale straw yellow with 2 fingers of a white, soapy head. Excellent head retention. Body is lightly hazy with very high visible carbonation.

Smell: Lemon rind, grass, light funk, doughy, yeast spiciness and a slightly skunky smell as well.

Taste: More or less the same as the aroma. Lots of yeast spiciness, grass, mild lemon, slight breadiness in the finish. There's a strong, somewhat off putting, bitterness throughout, that lasts long into the finish and aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with very high carbonation. Probably a bit overcarbed.

Overall: I've never had anything from Brasserie de la Senne, but as a big Tired Hands fan, this was a huge disappointment. Not an awful beer, but not good either.
