Canned on 11/10/15. Consumed on 3/19/18.

Would have been nice to see a canning date before purchase. Damn cardboard surrounding the 4 pack.

Still a good brew nonetheless.

Cinnamon is still there although most of the vanilla has seen better days.

I had this one aged about 8 months. We'll see how it holds up.

L: Black with not much head to speak of.

S: Cinnamon, bourbon, dark chocolate.

T&F: I have had this fresh and I think the bourbon is waaay more noticeable after it has been aged. There is still a strong cinnamon flavor and a little bit of vanilla. Finishes smooth with some chocolate notes. Medium body, somewhat light bodied for a stout.

O: Definitely not a sweet aged as it is fresh. I don't remember tasting much bourbon when I had this fresh, but it is very noticeable now in both the nose and the taste. It's not any better or worse being aged a little, but it is different. Depends if you are looking for more bourbon barrel flavors (aged) or vanilla and cinnamon (fresh).

Black cola appearance. Love the cinnamon addition. I don't get much if any bourbon barrel here. I get a touch of toasted coconut, not sure where that's from. Light carbonation. Smooth silky texture

Canned 10/28/15; drank 12/6/15 @ the Yarchives.

Drank straight from the can; no visual cues.

Cinnamon, milk chocolate & root beer notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Cinnamon, milk chocolate & root beer flavors; no booze heat. A sessionable, flavorful stout...I hope they can this every year!

The cinnamon is a nice addition that shows up in the finish, but not getting much bourbon barrel character. Still, enjoyable beer that I woukd have no problem drinking again if given the chance.

A - Jet black opaque body, short tan head fading quickly to a hint of a tan line at the rim. No lacing.

S - Pretty quiet, but spice, vanilla and cinnamon, a bit of clove or allspice, and a hint of dark chocolate and roasted malt.

T - Bright spice in the front, vanilla, a bit of sweetness from the barrel, chocolate and toasty malt, and a slight acidity in the close.

M - Thin. Not unpleasant, but more heft would be welcome.

O - The best Buffalo Sweat I've had so far, with a masterly balancing of elements producing great flavor. Enjoy this one.

This is probably my favorite variation on the base Buffalo Sweat beer and I cannot understand why it isn't ranked higher. I get a pleasant wave of both the vanilla and cinnamon on the nose and palate. To me, this is an outstanding beer. Try it if you can.

12oz, canned on 10/21/15
A - cola-like colored body with a tan head that dissipates to nothing very quickly
S - sweet nose with plenty of character: vanilla, bourbon, oak, cinnamon, chocolate, cream
T - nice blend of flavors with notes of vanilla, milk chocolate, bourbon, oak, oats, roasted barley, and cinnamon
M - very low carbonation, medium body and pretty smooth, finishes with some heat from the cinnamon
O - I really like the flavors of this one. I'd get it on tap if I saw it and was in the mood. This was in a mixed "Explorer" 4 pack and I doubt I'd buy the pack again even though it was fun to try some rarities from Tallgrass.

I get no barrel, to speak of, but I do get a prominent toasted coconut. Since there is no coconut added I will have assume that's from the barrel aging. Cinnamon is nice and it has a very creamy vanilla tone. Very thin and would like to see this as a 10% entry.

Canned 6 months ago. Caramel and vanilla dominate the aroma, with toasted, nutty malt and a hint of oak adding depth to the sweetness. Notes of cocoa and roast surface late. Cinnamon somehow brings it all together, subtly.

Flavor is sweet, caramel, lightly chocolatey, with a big punch of cinnamon upfront that lingers into the finish. Oak is subtle. Vanilla blend nicely. The adjuncts definitely dominate, but I'm a sucker for cinnamon and bourbon.

Not a huge fan. No head. No bourbon quality. Cinnamon is too pronounced and not a great addition in my opinion. Also, a little too sweet for my taste.

Pours an opaque black with a one finger mocha color head. Aroma is vanilla, cinnamon, roast malt, and faint bourbon. Taste follows with vanilla sweetness, cinnamon, and light roast with light bourbon flavor/sweetness. A bit of nuttiness and oak forms on the finish as it warms. Mouthfeel is smooth but a little thin for a BBA stout. Overall, this is a good barrel aged stout with the added flavors shining through. I like regular BBA buffalo sweat better, but this is a nice , flavorful, low abv stout.

Let me start by saying I was greatly disappointed by this beer.

Look: Dark brown, watery looking.

Smell: The smell is fantastic! When you take a decent smell, it appears that you're going to be in for a real treat. Vanilla and cinnamon are at the front, but with no hint of bourbon, which is where the disappointment begins.

Taste: For the price, the taste is average. I was expecting, however, a nice robust taste of the vanilla and cinnamon with some bourbon, but I was left hanging as there was ZERO bourbon flavor, and I mean zilch, notta, nothing. I would not call this beer, by any means, a bourbon barrel aged beer. Maybe it sat in the barrel for a night or two, but there is not evidence of bourbon what so ever.

Feel: Watery, not thick at all. Let down in that aspect of this beer.

Overall, I will not be purchasing again. I am appreciative of the experience of having the ability to sample this, but it is below average. Would I recommend a purchase, probably not, but do not let me stop you because you may enjoy this to it's full potential. As always, enjoy responsibly!

12 oz can. Dark brown pour with limited head. Aroma was strong vanilla and cinnamon, but also had light bourbon, chocolate and coffee. Taste was little bit stronger on vanilla and cinnamon, but overall nicely balanced.

i appreciate the idea here, i like a few things about it, like the affordable four pack and the fact that its not an imperial, but i dont think the execution is there, and i was disappointed with this overall, considering how much promise it had in my head. reddish brown in color, more like a brown ale than a stout in appearance, although there is a decent head on it and some viscosity, its attractive enough. smells way more like cinnamon than vanilla, and the bourbon is very forward. its cool that its not as alcoholic as the strong ones, but the base might not quite be big enough to hold all thats trying to happen at once. its insanely sweet, too much for me, and i almost dislike it right away, like a soda or something, its syrupy and way over the top that, total turn off. its too bad too, because the flavors are pretty solid. its true cinnamon, not like a red hot candy, and it isnt over done, appropriately dosed. the vanilla is sweet but true as well, and the interplay between the two is excellent. i cant taste the whiskey like i can smell it, but its impact is there for sure. neat to put out a beer like this, but its overly sugary and seems gimmicky to me as a result. ive liked their other beers ive had on this trip much more so far. i plan to try the regular buffalo sweat as well, i think the base beer might be solid in its own right...

Poured from a can into a Teku.

Pours a watery black, with a bubbly chocolate head that dissipates extremely quick. No traces of any kinds of lacing along the glass. Mild vanilla combined with roast from the malts initially jump out, but then the cinnamon spice takes over. Buttered cinnamon bread with a dab of vanilla slam the palate. No signs of any bourbon barrel characteristics. This one is very lightly carbonated, thin and watery. This is my first Tallgrass brew; nothing spectacular, missing the typical bourbon characteristics you would expect from a barrel-aged beer, but I did enjoy the cinnamon and vanilla combo.

Pours a dark brown to black with minimal head. The nose is faint, but has a touch of cinnamon and chocolate. The taste consists of light notes of cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, caramel and nearly no bourbon whatsoever. The mouthfeel is smooth and slick, but is just lacking something I can't quite put my finger on. Overall, it's a decent stout but there nose and flavors are a bit lacking from what I was expecting via the description.

First had poured from 12-oz. can into snifter. The bourbon probably would have balanced out the vanilla beans from the non-barrel-aged offering to good effect, but the cinnamon tips the scales back to overly sweet. The brewery acknowledges this, summarizing the experience as "[d]elicious, rich cinnamon graham cracker in liquid form." If that sounds good to you, try this beer.

Dark brown pour with mocha head. Aromas of dark roast grain, malt, bitter chocolate, coffee, vanilla and mild cinnamon. Not picking up a barrel notes but nonetheless it is a pleasant nose. Definite cinnamon on an aerated slurp. Flat watered down cola. Nothing complex and very one dimensional. Extreme lighter body. Mild bitterness lingering and saccharine sweetness as it warms. Very drinkable but pretty much a swing and a miss here. Looks the part. No evidence of bourbon or barrel influence which knocks the score down-imho. Pictures or it didn't happen. Would not buy again.

Pours jet black. Real thick head, but that goes away fast. Smells pretty thin. vanilla extract at the front. Bit of like a cinnamon icing type of aroma if you can imagine such a thing. Dunkaroos, if you remember those. Hint of coffee. No bourbon, no wood barrel. Tastes real similar. Definitely that dunkaroos vibe on the taste. Still no barrel/bourbon. Butterscotch. Mouthfeel is pretty awesome. Real creamy, slick, mouthfeel. Overall, the non bourbon flavor certainly docks it a bit, since it states clearly on the can that it was aged in bourbon barrels. Otherwise the other flavors shine nicely, and it has reconnected me with my childhood passion of eating dunkaroos. I also feel ready to drink another. This one went down pretty quick. May have found a session bourbon barrel stout here. I like it.

Black with a one finger tan head, which fades quickly, leaving no lacing. The aroma has dark roasted malt, vanilla, cinnamon, a little chocolate, but i cannot smell the Bourbon.

Dark roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, and some choclate are present in the taste. There might be a little Bourbon, but it is very little at most.

Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Has a dark roasted malt and cinnamon aftertaste. Not a bad beer, but when Bourbon is written on the can, I expect to be able to smell and taste it.

12 fl oz. can, canned on 10/21/2015 printed on the bottom. Acquired a single can for a ridiculous price at a local bottle shop. "Barrel-Aged Stout brewed with vanilla beans and cinnamon". No abv listed on the can.

Poured into a Big Eddy snifter glass.

A - Pours a bit darker than its counterpart, if I'm remembering correctly. Pours a dark black with a short-lasting bubbly tan head that fizzles out of existence. No real lacing to speak of. Looks okay, per the style.

S - Smell is strongly of cinnamon, vanilla bean, and buttery diacetyl. No real legitimate barrel or wood characteristics come through, nor does any bourbon.

T - Taste is the same: significant amounts of cinnamon, buttery diacetyl, and vanilla. No overt notes of bourbon, barrel, or aged characteristics.

M - Feel is smooth & creamy. Slightly thin per the style.

Black liquid, sits underneath a fizzy, thin creme colored head. No lacing left behind. Notes of cinnamon and vanilla at the forefront of the aroma, with a roasted malt background. The first thing I noticed about the taste was the lack of any BA flavor characteristics. The taste is a mix of cinnamon and vanilla. Mouth feel is creamy, and smooth. Nice mouth feel. Overall, great beer! The addition of cinnamon into the mix is interesting. Although it's barrel-aged, it doesn't taste like it, and the ABV doesn't show it. It's a good beer to pinpoint a multitude of flavors.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

Poured into tulip, yielded a 2 inch tan head, Disappears after a few minutes to a light ring. Smells of roasted malt, vanilla and cinnamon, very little bourbon/whiskey smell coming thru. Taste of, well, roasted malt, vanilla and cinnamon, very little barrel coming thru on the taste. There is a very light hint of oak, but not much to talk about. Known fact that the base is thin, but it is a stout, not a RIS, so I am fine with that. Poundable beer, I love the base and I like this one too. Has a very creamy mouthfeel. This is a dark beer that can be drank year round. Forgo the barrel and just keep the regular with Vanilla Bean and Cinnamon and save yourself some money. I really want to see those barrels full of Big RICC
