A light and refreshing Berliner Weisse, with its crisp natural tartness balanced by the addition of blueberries. Sweet yet tart.

I picked up a can of Tallgrass's Blueberry Jam for $1.69 at The Lager Mill. I've had a couple beers from this series and since I like blueberries I thought I would give this one a try, so lets see how it goes. 2017 Vintage. Poured from a 12oz can into a teku.
A- The can looks nice, it has a nice design to it and it's a little eye catching. It poured a hazy golden orange color that took on more of a golden yellow color when held to the light with a over three fingers worth of slightly creamy, fluffy and fizzy white head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away it left a little bit of spotty lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking sour, I have no complaints.
S- The aroma starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the blueberries being the first to show up and they impart a nice and natural tart blueberry aroma that's followed by a noticeable sour aroma. Up next comes a little bit of a doughy aroma that leads into the malts which is impart some bready, grainy, pale malt and light sweet malt like aromas. This beer has pretty nice aroma, it's what I would expect from the style.
T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma, but a little lighter and it starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the blueberries still being the first to show up, but they are a good amount lighter than they were in the aroma and it's not as intense. Up next comes a little bit of doughy flavors that leads into the malts which show up just as much as they did in the aroma and they impart all the same aspects. On the finish there's a slightly lighter amount of medium sourness with a little more sweetness and it has a light blueberry and malty aftertaste. This is a nice tasting blueberry berliner weiss, but I wish the blueberry showed up more.
M- Smooth, not overly sour, a little refreshing, on the light side of being medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and it works well with this beer.
Overall I thought this was a nice beer and I thought it was a pretty solid example of the style, I liked it, but I didn't love it and I think if it had a little more blueberry like flavors than it would be a better beer. This beer had ok drinkability, one is enough for me, I might get bored with the flavor after that. What I like the most about this beer is the aroma, it's pretty nice and I wish the taste was more like it. What I like the least about this beer was the taste and drinkability, they were this beers weak points. I don't think I would buy this beer again and I can't say it's a must try. All in all I liked this beer, but it was still a little rough around the edges and it has the potential to be better. It's not a favorite beer from this brewery and it's a little bit of above average for the style. Nice job guys, this is a solid beer, but it still has the potential to be better.

Appearance: Arrives with a hazy golden color capped by a one finger head; rather fizzy and fades quickly leaving a few spots of lacing
Smell: The blueberry is well-developed in the aroma and is supported by doughy, grainy tones
Taste: Doughy and somewhat sweet, up front, with some blueberry flavors developing; a touch of lactic sourness in the mix, as well; tart wheat tones in the finish
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A refreshing summer beer but the blueberry tones are not as bold as I would have hoped
