Brewed by:
Tallgrass Brewing Company
Kansas, United States

Style: Milk / Sweet Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those “I’ve never-tasted-a-beer-like-that” kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

Black in color with a head that was minimal and rapidly faded entirely. Delectable aroma of oatmeal, chocolate, and dark malt. There is plenty of oatmeal, chocolate, and dark malt in the flavor but the oatmeal clearly dominates. The mouth is a bit oily and thick.

Appearance- Black with a light mocha head. Three fingers of head produced.

Aroma- Sweet milk chocolate with a little bit of roasty chocolate coming through.

Taste- Similar to the nose with a sweet chocolate and creamy milk flavors apparent up front along with a slight snap of carbonation and roasty malts. This isn't over sweet, but the roast malt is just subtle enough to provide balance to the sweetness while adding some flavor as well.

Mouthfeel- Dry at first and slightly creamy in the finish. Big carbonation up front. Medium bodied.

Overall- Pretty good milk stout, but I'd prefer there to be more roast/coffee to compliment the sweetness. There's also a werid watery/milky finish that lingers a bit on the tongue and the top of the mouth, which detracts for me. Worth a try especially if you like stouts on the sweeter side. (82/100)

On draft at Wobbly Bobby in Rapid City, SD.

The bar is lowly lit, but the beer appears near black and opaque with approximately a half inch of beige head. Big chocolate aromas with some milk presence. Chocolate milk flavor throughout. Elegant and light on the palate, but by no means thin. A tad sweet, complimented by some bitter chocolaty tones in the finish. Really tasty.
