Style: Milk / Sweet Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those “I’ve never-tasted-a-beer-like-that” kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

Appearance: Pitch black, with a huge head of tan suds and thick, loopy lace.

Aroma: Coffee, cocoa, chocolate goodness. Really nice.

Taste: Rich cocoa, creamy and smooth as can be. Hint of sweetness and a little bitter at finish. One of the easiest to drink, beautiful, and creamy stouts I’ve had in a long time. Absolute winner and a great stout!

I was pleasantly surprised by receiving this beer by accident at a pub one evening. I've been buying this one on my weekly run ever since. I was fortunate enough to have the local Hy-Vee store sell this on tap in 64oz. growlers last week and it was an absolute treat. There are distinct chocolate flavors with a hint of coffee. Nice caramel colored head and smooth finish. I've tried a lot of oatmeal stouts and this one is my favorite even over the Barney Flats.

Moderately sweet with some burnt/coffee aftertaste. Not heavy. Maybe kind of light for a stout. Good. Not great but good.

Smooth and creamy but a tad thin... Lots of flavor but Something seems off to me... Chocolate and caramel with a strange finish on occasion....

"Best by 5/16/15"; drank 3/16/15 @ the Yarchives.

Poured from the can into a glass.

Black/brown appearance.

Big dark tan head; nice lace.

Oats, cream & bakers chocolate notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Cream, oats, milk chocolate & faint dirt flavors up front; cream soda notes on the finish with a hint of carbonation bite. An enjoyable, flavorful session stout.
