Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those “I’ve never-tasted-a-beer-like-that” kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

Pours black with medium, creamy, tan head that didn't last long.

Smells of coffee, chocolate and roast malt

Tastes sweet roast malts, coffee, cocoa fading to vanilla hints and more roast malt. Semi sweet finish with short coffee linger. Full body with lower smooth, creamy carbonation

On draft served in a Shaker pint. Rich, dark brown, almost black, with a typical beige head.

Smell of coffee, chocolate, toasty malt, and a mild spiciness.

The flavor held no surprises. Slightly sweet, roast malt, coffee with cream, a bit of chocolate and that mild spice on the aftertaste. The chocolate is more toward the bittersweet end of the spectrum.

The feel is where this really shines. It is velvety smooth, lightly carbonated, and creamy as can be. Very low bitterness, and it is an extremely clean beer.

Overall, an easily accessible milk stout that can appeal to stout newbies and veteran drinkers alike. Very nice brew, recommended.

Pours a soda black with a tan head. Smells of coffee and chocolate. Taste is the same. Sweet at first, bitter for the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is creamy. Overall, the beer is delicious.

Appearance: Pitch black, with a huge head of tan suds and thick, loopy lace.

Aroma: Coffee, cocoa, chocolate goodness. Really nice.

Taste: Rich cocoa, creamy and smooth as can be. Hint of sweetness and a little bitter at finish. One of the easiest to drink, beautiful, and creamy stouts I’ve had in a long time. Absolute winner and a great stout!

I was pleasantly surprised by receiving this beer by accident at a pub one evening. I've been buying this one on my weekly run ever since. I was fortunate enough to have the local Hy-Vee store sell this on tap in 64oz. growlers last week and it was an absolute treat. There are distinct chocolate flavors with a hint of coffee. Nice caramel colored head and smooth finish. I've tried a lot of oatmeal stouts and this one is my favorite even over the Barney Flats.
