On cask at Old Chicago.

Cocoa Rose is the Tallgrass Ale aged on Cocoa nibs, Raspberries and Orange Peel.

Poured into a warm shaker pint. This beer poured a hazy brown with a decent 3 inch cap that leaves a bit of lacing down the sides of the glass. Up front the aroma hits you with raspberry extract and just a slight bit of chocolate. No orange is noticeable. Just a bit of toast, dark fruits and caramel. The flavor follows suit. Raspberry extract and bitter chocolate are the dominant flavors. Still no orange. The mouthfeel is light with just a bit of creaminess to it. Carbonation was about spot on. Overall its a tasty beer. Nothing out of this world but worth trying. Honestly it reminded me a bit of NB Frambozen, just not executed as well. I would like to try it again after Tallgrass has had a couple years to perfect the recipe.
