This brew, from a tall can, is a hazy chestnut color. The head is slightly soapy, off-white, and has a nice lace. The smell is a little nutty, with some underlying malt. The taste is similarly malty, with some softness and just a little bittering hops for balance. Full in body and drinkable.

Pours dark brown with very little head retention. Smell reminds me of a light toosie roll smell. Lighting carbonated with light toosie roll flavor. Over all I like it,what really count's is the flavor. Is it bold? No but very drinkable! I'll buy it again

Tallgrass' Pub Ale pours a brownie-copper color with a tight head of 2 fingers. The transparency gets more apparent towards the bottom of the glass, but for the most part it's a 100% opaque view.

Faint aromas of whole wheat loaf, syrup soaked malts, straw/grass, blueberry, and brown bread crusts.

Flavor is highly acidic and tasty, with delicious brown bread crusts, cashew, huge malt, vanilla, and a finish of mushy apple. Some bright coffee notes as well. It's like Newcastle on steroids with less sweetness and more robustness.

Feel is both semi-creamy and semi dry with a ton of carbonation, ending more dry than it started. I believe this is in true english form so, kudos.

Pub Ale is absolutely enjoyable. I'll be drinking it again, and I'll be looking for it in 6 packs or 4 packs or whatever it comes in. Just a shame it doesn't come in 12 packs.

Poured tallboy into glass mug. Small but lively head. Lace forming the shape of a capering pig.

Nose is mostly bread.

Taste: all the classic nut associated with English browns. Malt and a sweet note of light syrup or caramel.

Mouth has bite, but generally inoffensive.

This is Tallgrass's original flagship brew, and it makes sense why. It's an approachable brown ale that has more flavor than Newcastle, but isn't as distinct t as a Hazelnut Brown Nectar or even Sam Smith's. It's unpretentious beer well done, even makes a decent session pack.

Appearance: Deep color of more red than gold, light cap and lacing.

Aroma: Malt of a lightish sort, little hop presence.

Taste: Dryish malt with mild hop undercurrent. Flavor builds as you drink and it warms up. Something a bit caramely with a pleasant, slightly sweet lingering malt aftertaste.

Texture: This is a lightweight.

Overall: This tastes like what it was designed to be, a 3.8% low key pub style ale with refreshing qualities. An inoffensive crowd pleaser to accompany food or company. It won't wow you with flavor, but it won't knock you cross eyed with alcohol ether. The brewery's biggest seller I believe, and I can see why.

Rich clear burgundy with a medium sized creme head. Head retention is fair with good lacing left behind. Biscuit malts, bread, dark fruits, and nuts in the aroma. The flavor profile is very similar with notes of biscuit malts, dark fruits, nuts, and bread. Very simple and well balanced. Mouth feel is smooth, with a medium body. Maybe a little sticky. Overall, a good simple brew that doesn't venture out too far in any direction.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

Appearance: Pours a chestnut brown with a nice head that sticks and laces

Smell: Fruity, nutty and tea-like, with a brown bread character

Taste: Brown bread, up front, with a hint of toffee; fruity, nutty and tea-like elements develop, with a modest but earthy hop bill adding a little bitterness

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Not a style that I chase down very often, this is a nice, sessionable example
