The Beer was a thick dark black color with nice lacing on the glass.. The nose was sweet with hints of prunes. It's flavors were big and sweet. Great roasted coffe bean and sweet chocolate flavors from start. It had a syrupy mouthfeel and a full ainse finish. This beer was overall very good and will have another when I return.

I sampled a 10 oz glass of this brew on a recent visit to the pub with some friends.
The beer is pitch black upon arrival and a creamy tan head of .5 cm rests effortlessly on the surface.
Aroma is chocolate and roasted malt heavy with some molasses and espresso coming through as well, very complex and robust nose. There are some hints of the booziness that awaits as well.
The first sip reveals a thick body with mild and spacious carbonation.
Flavor is big and robust with malt through and through. Chocolate, espresso, run, & raisins mix for a complex flavor. no hops make a presence.
There is some warm booziness after each swallow, and some slight bitterness, but espresso bean bite not from any hops. A rich and hearty brew for enjoying after a day of hiking in the snow!

Although I'm not a fan of straight stouts, this one is quite exceptional.

Pours dark dark brown, very opaque with a thick creamy head. Very nice lacing, good carbonation as well. Smell is dominated by espresso, coffee, and roasted malts. Very nice. Taste follows with rather bitter coffee and roasted (almost burnt) malts, good hefty hops. All the flavors are very powerful, well pronounced. They linger on after each sip (which is good for the style). Overall, a very exceptional stout.

Poured thick dark nearly black. Thin cream head dissipates quickly. Aroma is chock full of burnt malt, coffee, and subtle chocolate tones, caramel undernotes, just a hint of herbosity, a wonderful, seductive, complex fragrance.

First taste is alive with flavor. Burnt malt jumps onto the tongue, bringing coffee, chocolate, caramel, and herbs, into a balanced procession of flavors. Finish is long, and surprisingly crisp for the style. Alcohol is so well hidden in this excellent amalgam of joy as to be invisible

Mouthfeel is rich, not at all chewy, perfectly in balance with the flavor to give the tastes a platform on which to shine.

Drinkability is awesome, it has just the perfect flavor and consistency for a sipping session, though hardly a session brew. Wish they could have filled a growler for me, but it is available only on tap. Will definitely get this again...and again. Best stout I've ever tasted.

An opaque black brew with a small espresso-tinged head of foam. Espresso coffee dominates the olfactories. There are also some roasted malt notes in the aroma and some mollases as well. The taste is roasty with some lovely dark fruit flavors, some anise, some chocolate, coffee, and all of the imperial stout staples. Mouthfeel is medium>thick, but not too thick and the drinkability is very good as well. In the end, this seems a bit light for an Imperial stout, but it is one hell of a stout despite its classification.
