On-tap at the Brewpub in Afton. Collaboration between BMB and Champion Brewing in Charlottesville. Rye IPA brewed with Galaxy, Simcoe, Centennial, and Amarillo

Pours a nice reddish amber color - a little darker than I expected. It smells really good, piney resin, citrus fruits, and a hint of spice from the rye. The taste is more of the same, very clean! Pine from the centennial and amarillo, citrus from the simcoe, and a distinct rye spiciness that compliments the flavors nicely. Unfortunately I didn't really get as many tropical notes from the galaxy as I would've liked. They were there, but I can't say they were prominent at all. The mouthfeel was about right for the style. The malt backbone was present enough to give the beer a nice chewiness, but it was still crisp enough to keep the profile in IPA territory.

This is a really solid beer, and I wouldn't expect anything less from these two breweries.

Part of a flight of 10 at the brewery. Pours a nice red-amber color, with a thin white head. Initial impression is pine, grapefruit, and spices. Mouthfeel and carbonation are medium - just about right. Finish is dry and slightly peppery. Refreshing but not a standout.
