Yes this place is a winner; you can't go wrong with the view, the food is very good, and a good selection of beers, something for everyone. Don't miss it if you are in the area!

Sat outside as sun set...amazing views. Maybe the best views of any brewery I have been at. Certainly near the top in overall atmosphere. Beer and service are really good here. I had a steak sandwich with a Ceasar salad. It was delicious. I liked there beer before, but now am hooked. An excellent stop. Cannot recommend enough.

Nice brewery at the top of a mountain with views of the fog rolling into the valley farmland. Enjoyed their bratwurst pizza while I was there. The sandwiches are great too. Most of the ingredients are locally sourced. Decent outdoor seating area too. Last time I was there, they had some cornhole boards out for people to play while they were drinking.

Stopped by for lunch on a cold, rainy Monday. Unfortunate, in that Blue Mountain's claim to fame is the unparallelled view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from their outside seating area. So we sadly sat inside (which is not unpleasant at all) and were served by pleasant, knowledgeable wait staff. The food was great - huge portions; reasonable prices. (Lunch was 7 hours ago and I'm STILL full.) Their bratwurst and fries will fill you up for weeks.
Order a flight - ten 2.5 oz samples for $9.00. Can't beat it!

This is a nice brewpub to while away an afternoon. Gorgeous setting in Nelson county, VA with inside and outside tables. There is a section outside where dogs are welcome and room for kids to run around. The food is fairly good with a heavy emphasis on local ingredients. The service was good, very fast despite being busy during dinner rush. Decent selection at the bar, you can always find something to drink but it isn't as wide a selection as other places.

This is the best brew pub in Virginia. There are a lot of great breweries that are warehouses with the food truck model, but that doesn't work too well for non beer drinkers. Still, BMB has some of the best food to rival a restaurant and the beer is outstanding. Will always swing by...

Atmosphere: the outdoor patio is second to none. great mountain views and lots of space. games and occasional musicians. Inside I can't speak for but the its a great place to have a drink and for seasonal vistas/events.

Quality: not the top tier in the area and certainly not the country but you can always find something good to drink on the menu. last time I was there is was a wee heavy which was nice on the cool fall day.

Service: not bad service but when it gets busy things can slow down quite a bit. while the lots of seating is a good thing it can really jam up the food wait.

Selection: as I said you can almost always find something to drink but still not an extensive everything under the sun selection.

Food: the food menu varies from good to poor. I have had a few bland and borderline uneatable things (hummus platter and black bean burger respectively) but I've also had some good items as well.

Overall: a must try if only for events that you want to be outside for and have a good beer. everything from fall colors with mountain vistas to oktoberfests and beautiful summer afternoons/evenings. If you are exclusively looking for top notch beer ticking I'd look elsewhere.

Little off the beaten path and nice place to visit. They have ten taps of their own stuff but I will say that it is nice that they represent multiple styles on tap (you won't find 10 IPAs on tap, for example). I had a flight sampler with my wife and there were a few big hits and a bunch of strikeouts (which would be great if this were baseball). The service was fast and friendly so no complaints at all on that. Not a complaint but the food is OK, at best, then you see the price for it and ouch. Guess it makes up for the cheap beer. If I come back it will be just to relax with a few cold ones.

Great setting and wonderful view at the mountain up toward Wintergreen. The outdoor area looks nice, but it was a bit cold and windy in December to enjoy.

The bar is nice. Much more of a full restaurant than a brewery with tasting room. Food is very good.

They will do flights of all beers which is nice.

A few great beers with a lot of just OK. Plenty of styles covered.

Pricing was reasonable.

What a really nice brewery and restaurant. Their location 10 minutes off of the interstate makes them an automatic stop for me on my way to visit family in WV. They usually have 2-3 seasonal and specialty beers on tap at all times to go with their regular stuff, which always entices me to stop by.

The food they offer has been stellar everytime I've eaten there and the staff is always polite and welcoming. The huge front patio is great on nice days and there's always people playing cornhole out front too.

The only thing I wished was changed was the size of their flight samples. They sell 2oz samples of all their offerings as the flight where I'd prefer to choose 4-5 and get a larger sized taste. That's just a minor personal gripe, though as I really like everything about this place. Good stuff and definitely worth a quick jump off the highway to try.

Expansive brewery/ restaurant located on a knoll with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Large open foyer with bar and dining area to the right and bottle shop, merch area on the left. They also have a spacious outdoor trellised patio. Bar seats about 12 and they had 10 assorted beers on tap. I have only been there during lunch and the crowd has always been navigable. Fast, friendly service and excellent food. Highly recommend.

Went on a Saturday and the place was absolutely packed. Luckily with indoor and outdoor options we were able to get a beer and a table rather quickly. There were lots of outdoor tables, an outdoor bar, lots of indoor tables and an indoor bar. They also had some cornhole boards set up which was pretty cool. The mountain view at sunset was pretty amazing too. So on to the beer...about 6-8 standard offerings, a couple seasonals, a couple barrel aged options and some affordable 750 ml bottles. Definitely worth stopping by as the beer was very good, the food was good and the atmosphere was very nice.

Stopped in on the way back from Devils Backbone. Have had a few of their beers in the past, so had to stop.

The atmosphere was great outside. Music, cornhole, lots of people. The weather was great. Inside it was ok. A bunch of wooden booths, etc. The bar was packed.

The quality of the brews was great. We got a flight of everything. Really enjoyed the Red Zepplin and the Kolsch. Grabbed a growler of RZ to go.

Service was meh...ok. I would ask a waitress a question and she would just say she wasn't my waitress...blah blah blah. Our waitress was sitting in the booth behind us jabbering with some blue hairs.

Beer selection was good. I think 12 or so on tap, not to mention a bunch of stuff in bottles.

The vaule was good, but they really jack up the prices of their growlers. A regular growler was like $10 and if you wanted the swing top it was an extra $10. Figure growlers shouldn't be where you make your money, but I don't own a brewery.

Visited here last Sunday with Da Boss for lunch and a couple of pints.

Atmosphere was awesome as we were seated outside with a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Inside was nice as well. As you first walk in there is a small bar that was on the right and a retail area was on the left. I did not go in any further although i could see a decent number of dining tables.

Quality of the beer is good. I had the Full Nelson and the Impy Red Zeppelin which are good brews. Da Boss had the Kolsch which was very clean from what she said.

Service was friendly and pretty prompt for a busy last lunch crowd. I did not test the knowledge of the server so i cannot really comment on that.

Selection of beer was good as there were a wide range from wheat and kolsch brews to imperial reds and stouts.

Food was tasty. Da Boss had a wrap of some sort and i had the crab cake sandwich. Sides were solid as well as the Slaw and fries were tasty.

Overall it was pretty reasonable (Less than $40) for two sandwiches and three pints.

Definitely visit if you are in the area...you will not be disappointed.

Great place for lunch or dinner when the weather's nice. Lots of outdoor seating, and there's a fantastic view. Beer selection is good, and there's frequently stuff on tap that Blue Mountain doesn't bottle and distribute elsewhere. The food's great as well. Highly recommended.

Great beers and also a great view of the mountains from the fantastic beer garden. Also a nice hop garden is visible. The food here is very good and the beers are great. Flights are reasonably priced so you can try everything they have to offer. Also part of the Brew Ridge trail.

This is my favorite restaurant and watering hole. I have visited often and have never been disappointed. The food is always hot and fresh. The burgers are always perfectly cooked to order and flavored to compliment their wonderful brews. The staff was always able to articulate the different styles of beer they offered and how they differ from other brands.

Be forewarned, parking gets short around dinner time in the evening.

You can order a beer sampler.

The fries are the BEST ...Must have!

Finally getting around to reviewing this place after many, many visits.

The atmosphere/location is incredible and really what makes Blue Mountain special in my mind. The brewpub is tucked away into a serene little nook in the Shenandoah Valley, about half way in between Harrisonburg and Charlottesville. There is a huge patio with tons of outdoor seating, and plenty of seating inside to boot. I highly recommend sitting outside if it's nice though - the views of the surrounding Blue Ridge mountains are quite spectacular and the patio is located right next to BMB's hop garden, which is a nice touch.

The quality of the beer is excellent, and BMB does a great job rotating beers and keeping a brewpub one-off or two on tap at all times. I really enjoy a few of the barrel aged offerings, the double ipa, and always end up drinking at least one pint of full nelson (pale ale). Beers are served in proper glassware and I'm rarely disappointed by any of their offerings.

The service is nothing to write home about, but really isn't bad considering how crowded this place can get. The waitresses aren't always the most knowledgeable but are usually willing to find someone who can better answer questions. I've never had bad service here, but every now and then my wait for another round of beers is longer than I'd like.

In terms of selection, Blue Mountain has about 10 beers on tap, all BMB beers of course. They do an excellent job varying styles and offer flights that include a taste of all their beers, in order from light to dark (for around 7 bucks I think).

The food at BMB is fantastic - the quality is always a pleasant surprise. I enjoy a pretzel with mustard or their wonderful cheese sauce for a snack. If I'm eating a meal, the fish tacos are delicious and I've also enjoyed the Thai burger and Bratwurst on separate occasions. They focus on local ingredients, which may drive the price up a fraction on the food, but I think it's worth a few extra bucks.

In general, the prices are more than reasonable. BMB fills growlers of all there beers, ranging from 7.50 for the Full Nelson (I rarely pass on this deal) to $20 for the barrel aged offerings. Sixers to go are only 7.99 and the to-go cooler also has a decent selection of bombers.

This is a great local brewery focusing on local ingredients and sustainability. It's exciting to see them expanding to other states, but in my opinion, most of the beers are much better straight from the source.

Great place to meet, have some great pub food, and enjoy some great beer. They have plenty of seating inside and out and views of mountains are unbeatable. Also have hops growing in a small plot outside. I have tried several of their beers and really like the Mandolin.

There really is not much to say outside of; this place is amazing. My wife and I went up on Memorial Day weekend, and it was well worth the almost 2 hours drive. The views from the outside eating were just astounding. Everyone was extremely nice and welcoming.

The atmosphere was great, relaxing and beautiful.

The quality of the food and everything was tremendous. The food was all fresh and local, and it wasn't the run of the mill brewery/pub food.

They had a great amount of options. And everything we tried tasted amazing.

The beer, the most important part, was awesome. A great selection of their brews on tap, and their sampler was very well thought through as they showed you the best order in which to drink them and had plenty of information about the beers.

I recommend that anyone who wants good beer, and good food go to Blue Mountain.

Hard to beat on a nice spring or fall day looking at the mountains from the patio. Nice feel in winter as long as close to the fire place and away from the doors. Excellent pizza selections, soft pretzels. Barrel house selections are nice addition. Family friendly. Definitely a great place on a nice day to drink local beer,

The wife and I passed through the area to visit a friend on our way back home from TN. I had sampled some Blue Mountain beers before, but since it was one of the only brewpubs in the area, we figured we stop in for a visit. It was definitely worth it, and not only that, but we also stopped in again for lunch the next day before heading home.

Good vibe to the place, a smaller bar seats maybe 10 people, and there was plenty of table space, including a huge outdoor area. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to sit outside, with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background, and a lush verdant hop garden in the foreground. They are pet-friendly as well, fyi.

There was a very good selection of beer available, with a good variety of styles. The beer wasn't out of this world tremendous, but they did have some solid options, in addition to some tamer mass-pleasing light beers. They also had some selections from their sister brewery, the Barrel House in Arrington. We ended up taking home a couple bottles of the Chocolate Coffee Dark Hollow, and a Sour Devil stout. They have a lot of other beers available for take-out, and a huge merch stand with tons of glassware (!).

Service was fine. Most of the waitresses were young, and not exactly experienced in beer knowledge, but enough to get by and give good recommendations. Food was tasty indeed. The wife got an artisan meat & cheese & fruit plate that was extraordinary, I had a pulled pork one day and a turkey wrap the next, both of which were very good, and our friend got a chili dog that was no joke. Prices were decent all around.

This was a great stop. Definitely worth checking out when in the area, and I hope to return someday.

Overall atmosphere was fantastic; indoor seating gave a traditional spin on a tavern, outdoor seating was gorgeous thanks to the blue ridge mountains. Also a very family friendly restaurant.

Quality of the establishment was excellent, you could tell everything they did was their best. Especially the beer, for we learned from the tour that all their beer is made using fresh well water from 2-3 different wells on the property.

Service was great. Our server did a good job on keeping us waited even though it was a busy saturday.

Selection of beers and food was great. I believe the tap had a selection of about 10-15 beers, of course all were Blue Mountain Brewery selections. Food was quite diverse from brats to pizzas.

Food was amazing. I personally had the beer soaked brat covered in sauerkraut and spicy mustard, and it was phenomenal. I didn't want it to end!! From the quality of my one meal, I could tell the rest of the food was probably on an equal plain.

Value was reasonable for the quality food you received, my meal was about 9.99 and the beer was about 5. Most of the meals were around 9.99 unless you went to a steak or something on that field.

Overall I was quite pleased with the brewery, with great atmosphere and scenery, amazing food, great beers, and suburb quality. If you're ever on the Brew Ridge Highway, you can't pass this one up!!

I think the venue of the brewery and the restaurant/pub are really quite nice - located in the rolling hills of VA there are amazing views and a wonderful outdoor seating area including space to place games. The atmosphere was definitely laid back and the people working in the brew pub were quite friendly. The interoir has a bunch of light colored wood paneling but also has great natural light.

Beers were very fresh and served at the proper temperature and in proper glassware. Good pours with the correct amount of head left in the glasses.

Our server as well as the front of house staff were friendly, pleasant, and helpful. I found the staff to be attentive and willing to engage in conversations about the beer - they wanted to know where I was from, how I heard about the place, and if I had tried any of their beers before (NJ/NYC, BA forums, and Yes).

There were 10 beers on tap as well as several others available in bottles - growlers, 6 packs, and bombers were also available as well as some pre-packaged selections for the holiday season.

Far better food than I normal encounter at a brew pub/brewery's restaurant and I loved the fact that it highlighted local ingredients. I had one of the flatbread pizzas they offered and really enjoyed it - I would definitely recommend the food.

I found the prices to be quite reasonable and might stop by again on another one of my drives between NJ and NC.

The atmosphere is the reason we go there, the views are amazing and they have a great patio to relax on. The food was amazing and I love that they emphasize the use of local ingredients. I ordered the sampler of what they had on draft that day so I could get a feel for all of their beers. I wasn't impressed with their regular line up, (they were decent beers but just didn't stand out,) but I did enjoy Dark Hollow. They also had local Kombucha which I was excited to try because I had discovered Kombucha a little over a year ago and never had any other than bottles I would find at high end grocery stores.
The host was great and even took the time to make sure our chairs were wiped down and dry since it had rained earlier. Our server attended to us but she wasn't particularly friendly and didn't seem to eager to help us. My bar on service is set pretty high so she might not necessarily be a bad server but she definitely wasn't great.
Overall I loved this place and definitely would say it is a must visit when you are passing through Virginia!
