Blue Mountain Brewery

beautiful location, in the valley below the blue ridge mountains. there is patio seating out front, would be great in the summer. inside the building is standard restaurant style brewpub setup. bar, dining areas, a to-go cooler. good variety of styles available, and I've enjoyed the beers I've drank from them. I just stopped in to pick up some to-go beer, so didn't eat anything.

Yes this place is a winner; you can't go wrong with the view, the food is very good, and a good selection of beers, something for everyone. Don't miss it if you are in the area!

Sat outside as sun set...amazing views. Maybe the best views of any brewery I have been at. Certainly near the top in overall atmosphere. Beer and service are really good here. I had a steak sandwich with a Ceasar salad. It was delicious. I liked there beer before, but now am hooked. An excellent stop. Cannot recommend enough.

Amazing Mountain View’s and great food

 

 

Nice brewery at the top of a mountain with views of the fog rolling into the valley farmland. Enjoyed their bratwurst pizza while I was there. The sandwiches are great too. Most of the ingredients are locally sourced. Decent outdoor seating area too. Last time I was there, they had some cornhole boards out for people to play while they were drinking.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stopped by for lunch on a cold, rainy Monday. Unfortunate, in that Blue Mountain's claim to fame is the unparallelled view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from their outside seating area. So we sadly sat inside (which is not unpleasant at all) and were served by pleasant, knowledgeable wait staff. The food was great - huge portions; reasonable prices. (Lunch was 7 hours ago and I'm STILL full.) Their bratwurst and fries will fill you up for weeks.
Order a flight - ten 2.5 oz samples for $9.00. Can't beat it!

 

This is a nice brewpub to while away an afternoon. Gorgeous setting in Nelson county, VA with inside and outside tables. There is a section outside where dogs are welcome and room for kids to run around. The food is fairly good with a heavy emphasis on local ingredients. The service was good, very fast despite being busy during dinner rush. Decent selection at the bar, you can always find something to drink but it isn't as wide a selection as other places.

This is the best brew pub in Virginia. There are a lot of great breweries that are warehouses with the food truck model, but that doesn't work too well for non beer drinkers. Still, BMB has some of the best food to rival a restaurant and the beer is outstanding. Will always swing by...

 

 

 

 

 

 

Atmosphere: the outdoor patio is second to none. great mountain views and lots of space. games and occasional musicians. Inside I can't speak for but the its a great place to have a drink and for seasonal vistas/events.

Quality: not the top tier in the area and certainly not the country but you can always find something good to drink on the menu. last time I was there is was a wee heavy which was nice on the cool fall day.

Service: not bad service but when it gets busy things can slow down quite a bit. while the lots of seating is a good thing it can really jam up the food wait.

Selection: as I said you can almost always find something to drink but still not an extensive everything under the sun selection.

Food: the food menu varies from good to poor. I have had a few bland and borderline uneatable things (hummus platter and black bean burger respectively) but I've also had some good items as well.

Overall: a must try if only for events that you want to be outside for and have a good beer. everything from fall colors with mountain vistas to oktoberfests and beautiful summer afternoons/evenings. If you are exclusively looking for top notch beer ticking I'd look elsewhere.
