Pours a nice golden clear into a pint glass. Head is thin and goes away quickly, leaving slight traces (gentle pour).

Aroma is hoppy and has a fruity flavor. Almost like cherries (reminds me of a russian stout) rather than a citrus which you might expect on a highly hopped beer. Slight onion and earth too.

Taste is bitter, creamy malts, sweet dank that seems to be honey. I'm not getting much citrus so much as rind. The bitter is present yet not overpowering although they list 100. Balanced throughout, and quite full mouth. Voluptuous and flavorful yet clean. Anna Nicole Smith is right.

They go on and on on the label about how overhopped this is, but it's not sticky at all, booze (8.6, even though this listing has 9.2) is well hidden, no hot burn. As user jeffsta1 says, nothing new here but really great and balanced DIPA.

Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Appearance: Deep golden amber, crystal clear. Super fluffy white white with good retention and has a pretty good cling of lace.

Aromatics: Bright and tart full of citrus fruits (grapefruit and lemon) with floral and pine holding hands and chatting up the sweet caramel and toasted biscuits that join the party a little later on.

Taste: I'll say right up front I was not expecting the complexity in the flavours given the 100+ IBU. The flavours are packed full but incredibly well blended. I'm fairly use to getting the raw earth and pine, but this one actually starts more in the fruits, and the only really resin and dirt bitter comes near the end. The grapefruit and orange peel flavours stand out nicely but are joined by bitter-sweet maltiness and something I can only describe as roasted blackberries (even though I have no idea what roasted blackberries taste like - that is the aesthical flavour I get). I love the gentle sweetness in the middle - almost like a mango or apricot it's subtle and weens into the bitter hops very smoothly with no hints of an alcohol residue.

Feel: I'd say its a solid middleweight maybe even voluptuous (jellikit said think Jenny McCarthy - I'd say think Anna Nicole Smith), at times it feels like a de-pulped smootie soft and smooth with all the right waves. It has a brightness and fluidity like warmed honey and is bold and clean. Fairly good retention of carbonation keeps it crisp as it washes over the palate. Finishes warm and clean.

Overall: A stupendous IPA. I haven't found too many IPAs over 75 IBU that are not hop heavy, but these guys did a tremendous job of giving the full hop flavors without an overly dirt and pine bitter. It's flavour profile for an IPA is top notch in my opinion.

Pairing: With taste this bold you almost don't want to try and combine it with anything. But given its robust nature I'd stick to light-medium and go with the organic theme - Grilled/BBQ'd summer veggie kabobs, or a open fire pizza/flatbread with fresh basil, tomatoes, mushrooms, red onion, and squash or bell pepper top with feta cheese crumbles, and maybe a splash of garlic infused olive oil on top.

L: Copper gold color that pours a few inch creamy white head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing on the glass.

S: Lots of citrus and tropical fruit combined with a piney and earthy bitterness a little bit of malt beneath.

T: Lots of tropical and citrus fruit. A bready maltiness and a pleasant but not too strong bitterness that lingers on the tongue. The fruit makes this a pretty sweet IPA.

F: Feels pretty light for a dipa but creamy smooth carbonation.

O: There are better DIPAs out there but this is a pretty solid one.

Nice golden-tan color, looks unfiltered. Whitish head.
Smell of apricots, citrus. Similar to DFH90 and Citra - this is a compliment. Clean.
Taste is again, similar to Citra, one of my favorite IPAs. A little rounder, more assertive.
Mouthfeel is good, carbonation is spot-on.
Overall - nothing new here, but this is an absolutely first-rate, top-shelf IPA.

Golden amber in color. Mostly cloudy, creamy head with sustainability. Lots of lacing. The aroma is citrus, light tropical fruit, and bready malt. The taste is amazing. It's what makes this beer one of my favorites. The hops burst with flavor. Juicy and resinous. Grapefruit, pine, lemon, grass, apricot - the whole spectrum. The malt level is just right to make it a very smooth, drinkable beer for a DIPA. Not much burn. Just a nice hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. Excellent beer.

Sampled at a tasting. Clean golden pale pour with a small white head. Smells of honey, grapefruit and tropical fruits. Crisp and refreshing, with taste notes that include grapefruit, pine and some tropical fruits.

Awesome orange appearance with over an inch of head. Aroma seemed to drop a lot of amarillo and simcoe on us. Again, very nice.

Taste was very adept at hiding alcohol, format isn't convenient as is the price per ounce, but its a really good beer. Hits all kinds of hop flavors in terms of pine and citrus (orange). One of the older beers that was before the Citra hop killed everything. Very sexy.

Slightly hazy orange color with off-white head. Aroma is slightly dank and resiny, west coast style. Taste starts hoppy and bitter up-front, earthy, piney with grapefruit on the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Well made, classic west coast style DIPA.

Pours a hazy golden color with a white head. Some residual lacing in the glass. Nose is pine and citrus. Tastes is well balanced if slightly sweet from the malts.
