Served on-tap in a Shaker pint at Five Loaves (Charleston, SC).

A: Clear honey-gold with short rim of off-white head which leaves a few lines of squiggly lacing.

S: Pale pils maltiness with light floral, herbal hopping with light bready yeast

T: Crisp and clean pils maltiness with Bready and light lemony hop character.

M: Light-bodied with moderate carbonation and crisp light feel.

O: An easy-drinking enjoyable Kolsch with classic character.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that quickly died down, leaving a patch of bubbles on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of cracker malts are present in the nose along with some hints of green grapes and lemon citrus.
T: The taste has flavors of cracker and wheat malts along with notes of green grapes and hints of lemons.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a touch of dryness in the finish.
O: This beer seems a little lighter in body compared to other Kölsch beers, so it would make for a refreshing choice during the summer months.

Appearance - Nice yellow color, bubbly white head.

Smell - The lime notes come through nicely. Grains notes can also be detected.

Taste - The lines, pleasantly tart, jump to the front in the aftertaste. Dry grain notes lay a nice backbone, that shows contrast. The smooth mouthfeel shows the lime fading in the aftertaste and the grains standing taller.

Mouthfeel - Smooth normally does not describe a kolsch, but there it is. Carbonation is big, but that's the style.

Overall - This is a world class kolsch.

The beer has a clear pale yellow color. The aroma is lemon and german malt. The taste is lemon, spice, wheat, light bitterness. Very refreshing kolsch. The best american example of the style I've had

I'm a neophyte beer rater, but I really enjoy Kolsches and this one holds up pretty well compared to my favorite, Alaska's Summer Kolsch.

Very clean wheat like body that sits in the glass champagne like golden. Head is a short off white half inch of quick fading foam and turns into a skim in no time. Nose is soft with hints of citrus rind and dry wheat notes. Taste is crisp and slightly fruity up front with first sip. A bit of sweet bread dances with the German tones on the tongue nicely. Very nice mouthfeel and a super drinkable Kolsch.

Thanks Heisey for gifting me with a pounder can of this. The brew pours a clear golden color with white cap that fades leaving spotty lace.

This smells sweet with grain and a touch of fruity and floral character before a hint of sulfur, corn and grass follow in.

The taste is sweet grain somewhat corn-like before hints of sulfur and grassy bitterness come into play. Across the middle are some fruity and floral aspects.

This is light bodied with moderate carbonation. An easy drinking and solid interpretaion of a style that doesnt get much love.

This is the best looking Kolsch Ale I've ever seen with a bright iridescent yellow and a thick white foam. The nose is full of malt and grain. The flavor is very assertive for the style with a cereal malt, light barley, nutty pecan and a kilned grain. Kolsch is not the style I go to for flavor but this one is well done.
