Served from bottle into a COAST Willi (proper!). Poured a hazy golden yellow-orange with a one finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, spice, rye, earth, grass, grass hop, onion hop, and subtle marijuana. The flavor was of sweet malt, spice, rye, grass hop, earth hop, and subtle onion hop. It had a very light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a fairly good brew. This one really extremely complex upon first investigation of the nose. Tons of spicy earth notes with nice hints of grass and onion. Based on the aroma I thought this brew might knock it out of the park, however the flavor slightly let me down as it was fairly muted compared to the aroma. Still a very solid brew for the style that would definitely surprise quite a few people trying it for the first time.

Very pleasant pale ale, thanks Johnsense. Rye edge to a full hop flavour, without the palate erasing of an IPA. Bonus is its freshness, bottled Dec. 14

A: Light amber color. Hint of red. Little head. Little lacing.
S: Rye, citrus fruitiness. Orange lemon. Decently light.
T: As with the smell there is quite a bit of fruitiness here. The beer starts with a hoppy bitterness that fades into a orange taste. But as the fruit fades the bitterness comes back and lingers around for a bit too long. There aren't many other dither notes and the beer sees light overall.
M: light on the palate, biterness lingers too long. Watery. Solidly average.
Overall this is an alright beer. It's way too watery and the finish is a pretty weak mix of water and bitterness. COAST is sort of my go to brewery in SC and this is the first beer from there that I wasn't a big fan of.
