This place has lots of craft beer from all over. If you get there at the right time(delivery day) they wheel out cases of Tropicalia. Crew is very helpful and willing to answer any questions you throw at them.

If you look younger than your age, expect to be hassled. I was born when Jimmy Carter was president, but the manager had to approve of my ID. Fuckin rubbish. Great selection though.

Though they have an excellent selection their staff was very knowledgeable an pricing was never accurate. I would say 4 out of the last 5 times the price was wrong, both for and against me and once the person at the counter didn't know the difference between a 6 pack and a case.

This place has gone horribly downhill over the past 2 years. There was a time where this was THE place to go to get hard to get beers, rare beers, or brand new beers to the market without driving into downtown Atlanta. Now this place has gotten a stale rotation of the same old, same old that every "big box" package store has.

Happened to be in the area on a Monday and cruised through. I spent about 15 minutes in their mix and match section. Mostly of my time was spent searching for beer that wasn't expired or unreasonably out of date.

You guys need to get a new beer buyer ASAP.

Didn't expect much form this place until I FREAKIN WALKED IN! This is a bog store. It's probably about 40X80 yards. Every bit of that 80yd long left wall was full of sixers and twelves, and further down there was a who section of singles and the option to build your own sixer. The selection was, in my experience, mind boggling. Oh, and there also was a parallel isle of beer when the singles section started. They sectioned off rows by country and then further down they sectioned the beer by type. Brown ales, Stouts and Porters, IPA, reg pale ales, Hefeweizens, Lagers, Dark Lagers, Lambics, etc.

I spend the first 15 minutes just staring and finally went through and, like the cheapo that I am, I looked for all the cheapest singles and built two six packs and another 4 beers. Walked out of there with 16 bottles. My wife thinks I'm nuts.

Now I am.

I found the store to be disorganized but I'm typically able to find what I'm looking for. Prices are average. Found the employees to be both helpful and friendly. That isn't to say that the employees I dealt with were necessarily up on their beer but they were willing to help find what I was looking for. The woman at the checkout didn't know what a stout was so, ya know, probably wouldn't feel comfortable asking her for a recommendation. Considering NW GA is kind of a wasteland when it comes to craft beer, this store is a great alternative if you don't have time to head into the city.

Total Wine is my go to spot for most things alcohol related. They usually get the new release stuff and rarer things to the state and have the best prices on most stuff that I have seen. I like the fact that I can usually find most stuff without much trouble, and if not, there usually is an associate floating around who can figure out if they have it or not. One downside to Total Wine is that I haven't met the "beer guy," someone who can keep me in the loop on what is coming in, what is new and delicious, and who can save me something in case it's scarce. Besides that, good selection, helpful associates, and good prices. Good place

Pretty easy place to get too on Barrett Parkway just off 75. Larger warehouse like setup

Mostly wine in the store, but a nice selection of craft beer and spirits as well. Lots of American micros, probably about 75% of what is available in the state as far as they go. Best part about Total Wine is that they sell singles. Imports are lacking though... I remember discussions where people claimed this place has a selection that rivals Greens and the pricing is often better. Well that couldn't be more wrong if you ask me. They have some Belgians, mostly St Bernardus, D'achouffe and Caracole offerings, with some others mixed in. Nothing really in the Oud Bruin, Lambic and other sour categories beyond Lindemans. Germans and Brits are represented moderately well here too, but nothing from the nordic countries.

Quality hasn't been an issue for me, but I've seen year old beer on the shelves. I hope they rotate their singles properly too. Nothing special about the service, at least I'm old enough where they don't scan my ID and all that junk anymore.

Price wise they are usually pretty good. Best deal I got was a Terrapin Side Project for $4.99 when the cheapest elsewhere, at the time, was $5.99. Other than that, the prices are fair for the market.

Total Wine is nice if you live up in the area, or if you need a couple singles, but there are much better options inside the perimeter

I visit this place about once a week. The beer selection is very good. They don't have a few seasonals, namely the Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter, that come out but almost every other one that is out they have. Being in GA and outside of the Perimeter of Atlanta, they don't get stuff as fast as Green's or others in downtown Atlanta, but eventually they do get everything. I rarely find anyone who can help me with beer related questions, like when they might get a beer or any recommendations. Prices are average prices varying a dollar over/under the competition. This is the place that I frequent because it is the closest store that has an above average selection. For the casual craft beer drinker, this is the place, but if you want rarer stuff you might want to call ahead to see if they have it or just go to Green's or elsewhere. And their Stone selection isn't great. Either they sell out quickly or they just don't carry much.

Without a doubt, this is now the king north side as an alternative to Greens. I know this chain is out west and I honestly was there for opening day at the Kennesaw location. Yes, I am a beer nerd and they delivered to all my wildest dreams. Since that opening, they have crafted their selections wisely - and not like Bullocks that continues to have sub-par selections.

Total has such a huge selection of micros, internationals and seasonals to make your head spin. Beer geeks be warned - you will be a kid in a candy store and will not leave without spending $50+. Make sure to grab a "pick 6" and try different singles.

I work in the Perimeter mall area and I now see the new location being built - so make sure to check out the new location soon...although it looks smaller than the Kennesaw location.

This place is a pretty good journey from my home, but since I got a gift card from a relative for my birthday, I decided to make the trip.

Q: This is probably the cleanest and best lit liquor store I have been to in Atlanta. There were no dusty bottles anywhere to be seen. I was really surprised by the cleanliness of the store.

Serv: As usual in Atlanta, the beer workers are relatively clueless when it comes to the craft lineup. With that said, they were extremely friendly and answered the questions I had about the singles selection.

Sel: They have all the American micros available in GA very well represented. They also had the standard import selection that is available in the better beer stores here. They are not Green's or Jax in terms of more rare items. I considered giving it a bump in selection though since they have one thing no other stores here have: the ability to buy singles. That is a godsend for those of us relatively new to the scene that like certain brewers/styles, but do not want to risk getting a 6 pack of a brew just to try it.

Value: The prices are a bit higher when comparing apples to apples. The prices go up a bit more when purchasing singles, but its an option I am willing to pay a bit of a premium for.

I was chatting with one of the workers and he claims there are plans to expand to Buckhead and Alpharetta. I hope that the Alpharetta store happens since Jax in Cumming is currently the closest option for me.

It's Total Wine and if you've seen them in other states you know what to expect.

The selction is very good, especially for the area, but not great. The prices likewise are pretty good but not great.

What makes this place worth the visit is the wide variety of singles that are offered, a rarity in the Atlanta area. A very representative selection from the beers they carry. The only real beef I have is that they didn't have any Terrapin brews the last time I was in there. None. Struck me as odd, maybe a distributor beef?

Staff is fine but nobody in particular seemed to know a lot about the product.

I'll certainly be stopping here for singles. And maybe an Alsatian Riesling.

This place has a pretty good selection of beer. What they lack in selection they make up for in quantity. Their wine selection really dwarfs the beer section.

When I first started going there, I really liked being able to put together my own six packs. It's a good way to sample beer without having to buy an entire pack or case of something you might end up not liking. I'm starting to run out of stuff to try though. Wish they had more of a selection of beers to buy individually.

They have a decent selection of Belgians. Not the greatest in metro Atlanta, but respectable.

If you live on the Northwest side of Atlanta, this is the place to go.

Edit - Jan 24, 2009 Below ---

This place is very convenient for me, so I visit it often. My love for this place is beginning to diminish. While their wine selection remains impressive, who ever is in charge of stocking beer shelves is asleep at the job. The variety I once enjoyed has slowly gotten smaller and smaller. I used to be able to find Saranac there, but not anymore. My wife LOVES Left Hand Milk Stout. It's been several months since they've had that in stock. I'll concede the fact that not everyone likes Saranac, but Left Hand Milk Stout is one of the best representations of that style available in GA.

I once sang praises of this place. But their selection is getting worse every time I visit. Instead of seeing new stuff from time to time, I'm seeing stuff disappear. The last "new" thing I saw at TW&M is Yuengling, and that doesn't count because A) It's not that great, and B) It was new to the state of GA. I'm going to Beverage Mart in Acworth much more frequently now because even though they are about 1/10 the size, they have stuff there I have never seen at Total Wine and More.

I hope someone in charge reads this at Total Wine and More and steps up their beer game, or they will be losing a lot of business.

This store is pretty much identical to every other one you have probably ever been to. The only exception seems to be what state they are in determines what brands that they carry. Being in Georgia, this afforded them a very nice selection of the local brews, as well as some highland and other Carolina and Florida brands as well. Some pretty decent deals could be found on Avery and Left Hand, and some Rogue. But these are still mass produced stores that make their money off of the wine selection, so you are never going to get anyone in here who really cares about the selection and as a result it will always end up being the same as the others. If you are driving right by it, not a bad place, but there are better ones if you are looking for a real destination to go to.
