Big foam-up after popping the cork. Lots of suds and a very nice sprizzly mouthfeel. Hazy light amber in the tall Petrus glass. Quite rich on the tongue with loads of carbonation.
Flavors are tangy but slight. Yeasty, but not much hint of the Belgian flavors. Faintly fruity, grassy, a little touch of applejack. Wheaty like a Weisse, and slightly citrusy like a Wit. Has a kick at the end, not so much bitter, neither hops nor the Belgian stuff.
A pleasant quaff but not much for a Saison. More like a wandering and boozy version of a Wit. From the big bottle bought at Old Philly Ale House for $11.

Judiciously removing the cork here proved to be a mistake, as it's mostly lifeless. Murky yellow with a faint white skim.
Smell is oddly appealing. Yeasty, skunky, slatey and latic. Moderate strength.
Taste is saisonish, yeast and mineral wise. Fruit, but sloppy.
Mouthfeel sucks. Flat and watery. Such an epic fail here, I'm surprised the taste and smell are OK.
Drinkability ok. Really not bad smell and taste wise, but the citically terrible mouthfeel really hampers this beer overall.

Appearance: 22oz bottle poured into a pint glass results in a hazy yellow honey color with a 3" head that hangs around with solid lacing. Good looking Saison.
Smell: Food beer - yes. Good and welcoming - yes. Dominant combo of lemon and spices, pleasant and inviting.
Taste: Strong biscuits, wheat, coriander, lemon zest, apples, banana, and a bit of barnyard stink are what make this a typical saison. Bitterness not so much. Alcohol in the background. Complex and interesting.
Mouthfeel: Carbonated! light to medium bodied. Very crisp. Aftertaste is short.
Overall: easily drinkable, complex flavors keeps it interesting. Worth sharing.
