Enjoyed Sunday brunch at Blue's Egg in Milwaukee. Had this after the meal. Absolutely hit the spot after a burger: moderate malt, good bubbles, hints of brine, neutral overall, not a centerpiece, but a complement.

A solid American red ale. Very nutty, smokey, and malty. Near perfect earthy hops on the finish.

Finger of deep tan foam, good initial density but it all sizzles off quickly, lacing better than expected, full sheet that breaks slowly into streaks. Murky brown liquid with a mild orange tint, not much visible carbonation. Nose of cola bean, caramel, milk chocolate, and scone, however, not all that sugary, ends with some coffee notes, plum and mineral water. Light to medium-bodied, sluggish carbonation and pleasantly dry. Accentuated breadiness, root beer, chocolate and butterscotch. No real fruit flavor presence. Tends to lay flat on the tongue. Solid enough flavor intensity for what’s there but monochrome and easily can get bored by it.

Undated 12 oz. bottle from beer club shipment.
L: 1F or so white foamy head with good retention, leaving lacing and a cap and ring. Beer is a deep cordovan color.
S: Caramel malts. Other malts, maybe. Not a whole lot to it.
T: Malty, earthy. Quite malty, actually. Not a whole lot of complexity, but not bad.
F: Closer to medium body than light, light to moderate carbonation. A bit watery, still. Reasonably balanced and drinks OK.
O: It's OK.

I had two of these poured from a bottle into a pint glass. It was just an okay beer. Both of the bottles poured the same with very little to non-existent head with no lacing. It has a nice dark amber color. It has a decent malty caramel smell and taste. The mouthfeel is fine. I wouldn't turn another one down, but I will not seek it out again.

Pours a reddish brown color with a white head. Taste and smell is very malty. Mouthfeel is pretty crisp and easy to drink. Overall I like it. It's malty versus your hoppy centric beers.
