Had this on July 6, 2017 while golfing in Menomonee Falls, WI before the Stapleton/Heartbreakers show at Summerfest. Twas a different label then.

Pours a light orange/amber color. Might be slightly darker than your average "pale" ale. Had a mild grain and hop nose. Commercial tug job about the most pungent hops doesn't pan out unless you admit there aren't many of those pungent hops used.

Taste was fine, your standard pale ale things going on, usual descriptors of grapefruit and trees. Perhaps they were only talking about bittering hops, because this one stands strong around 50 ibu. Caramel from Munich and Crystal malt pushes alongside the typical bittering hop notes. Seems to be a lot of Cascade hops, which I dig on, but I dunno if they're the most pungent hops out there in 2017. The Summit usage gives a little changeup, but still smashes the bitter pale ale button. Not as much onion or garlic in there as usual per Summit. Its a decent stab at a SNPA like beer.

Rich amber hued body; gently rising carbonation; thick, sculpted head leaving dense sheets of foam along the glass. Sweet, pine resin aroma. Excellent flavor, balanced with mild malt goodness and a bold, bracing hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; crisp and ticklish on the palate; fairly dry mouthfeel throughout.

A well-balanced beer, with distinctive and pleasant depth and complexity.

Nice APA with medium copper amber color and fluffy slow fading head. Subtle complex on nose, crisp and medium hoppy on the tongue. Floral tones with apricot and berry hints and robust malty body.
