Slightly hazy yellow color with white head. Aroma has some generic grains, even some yeast, with the hops more in the background. Taste starts with a weird powdered sugar or dextrose, not bad but kind of unexpected. Continues with intense hoppy bitterness, quite green and abrasive hop matter. Medium body and carbonation. Quite harsh IPA, could use more aroma hops.

Clear pale yellow colour, transparent, like a pils..
First smell is similar to a pils beer, but then the hoppy, flowery aromas can be felt.
Tastes bitter (it's not rated with 95 IBU's for nothing) first, the the high hops content with grapefruit notes comes in front.
It feels like a creamy white whine.
Dry aftertaste, like after a really dry wine.
A balanced and very well made beer!

Aroma - Grapefruit, and lots of it. Very fresh and citrusy. Otherwise, very clean.

Appearance - Honey Gold. Hazy, but i dumped the sediment (whoops) imo, very light for a hop heavy IPA but fine. Pours to a nice soft white head, which lingers all the way through.

Taste - Honey, big time. Mellow sweetness, but a lot of it. Balances the Hop bite nicely. Hops are bitter, flavorful but only a bit. Mostly hop bite, not a ton of flavor per se. Typical of a commercial IPA.

Mouthfeel - very nice. Carbonation is smooth and silky without being over carbed and 'filling'. Beer is pleasantly moderate in thickness, rich but clean.

Overall - Very nice. Hop bitterness is pronounced. Heavy on aroma and bettering, missing a touch on flavoring hops. Sweet honey throughout without being cloyingly sweet. Very very nice for an IPA.

not a bad ipa, but its a little excessive on the ibus, and ends up being so bitter that its hard to drink very much of, even though i believe it to be quite well made. i have had similar experiences with other beers from these guys too, not sure why. hazy pale color, very little grain character to this in general, but with a tall and frothy head on it with nice retention. it smells and tastes like hops all the way, but somewhat more bitterness than flavor here, light pine sap and dense greens in it, almost healthful in a way, heavy chlorophyll type of deal, photosynthetic, intense. a cool fresh grassy note is there from the hops in the middle that sort of marks the climax, but alcohol and carbonation quickly carry it away. i was sure when i was drinking this that it was much stronger than 7% abv, it tastes like about 9, and has that sort of sweet oily thing that the bigger ipa types often do. overall a decent beer but the balance is off for me, and im not sure i could get through more than one bottle for the bitterness. these guys are up and down for me in the several i have had from them now...

12 oz. brown longneck poured into a standard pint glass. The beer is copper with a slight chill haze. It has a smallish white head.

I like the aroma of citrus and pine. It is prominent and inviting.

The taste is bitter with resins and citrus. It is unbalanced but you kind of expect that when you read the label. There is a bit of caramel malt but the hops run wild on this one. There is also some earthy in the aftertaste which I can’t put my finger on. That is a bit of a distraction. There is some heat from the alcohol that comes off a bit solvent like.

The mouth is oily and a bit coating.

I’m not sure how old this one is as O’so doesn’t date their bottles. I would like to try this again to see if the characteristics I don’t like could possibly be due to age instead of construction.

Pleasantly surprised by this one. Hazy bright yellow color, almost of slightly diluted orange juice. Wonderful juicy citrus smell. Name says everything you need to expect, hoppy and fresh with the hops bitterness, though strong still let the fruity citrus notes through.

Had poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Thin head with a crisp bite. Floral aroma with a bit of resin. Needs refinement and balance but strong beer overall.

Tasted in a Teku glass from a 12 oz bottle on November 21, 2015. Brewed with Summit hops. Look is amber gold, thin head and little lacing. Smell is citrus. Taste is tangerine and grapefruit. Feel is medium in body.

Kind of a West Coast IPA - huge hop bitterness with resin flavor, not a lot in the malt department. Good fine carbonation. Nice hop aroma. Thick, tight off-white head, that slowly settles. Good drinking beer.

Pours a mostly clear bright yellow golden color with white head. Pine, citrus, light fruits, and some floral notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with plenty of resinous hops and a nice hop bite. Great example of the style.

Pours a hazy straw color with a good inch of coarse, rocky suds--fantastic head. The aroma smells of grapefruit, lemon, tropical fruit (guava?), and suggestions of bready malt.

The taste is, unsurprisingly, hop forward, but not over the top. The bitterness is resinous, peppery, and only slightly citric. Biscuity malt affords some balance, while vague hints of tropical fruit add a touch of nuance. Medium body and carbonation afford a creamy mouthfeel that complements the taste nicely.

Overall, this is a solid IPA that comes off pretty balanced for what it is. The bitterness is complex enough to be interesting, and the beautiful presentation certainly doesn’t hurt.

This is a solid beer. I had it out of a growler fresh. It has a really dank smell on he nose. Almost like pot.
Taste is hoppy but vegetal in a way. Really good.
This beer kind of femmes me of Lagunitas Sucks. I thinks it's a little underrated.

On tap at Cooper's Tavern. Served in a mason jar 10/26/2014.

A- Clear orange-copper body, half finger white head, no retention time, nice lacing. It's a bit hard to see in the mason jar, but it looks solid. [3.75]

S- Resinous pine and grapefruit hops, a hint of sweet caramel malt. A bit of grassiness. [3.75]

F- Caramel, pine, grapefruit, herbal flavours, resinous. Not complicated but it certainly meets any definition of a solid IPA. Good balance of malt and hops. [4]

M- Medium bodied, a bit too bitter for my tastes on the finish but nicely carbonated and soft on the palate. [3.5]

O- Solid local IPA, nice bitterness and hop aromas abound in this beer. Would definitely recommend trying. [3.75]

Served from nitro tap in an american pint glass

Beautiful hazy yellow color that was especially creamy looking from the nitro character.

I haven't tried the regular version of this (not nitro) so I can't compare tastes but I loved the smooth hoppy flavor of this beer.

Had a slightly floral smell to it and a wonderful mouthfeel.

Cloudy pale yellow color, with white head that dissipates rapidly. When you put your nose down in the glass it literally slaps your face with its big citrus flavor. Lemon, lime, and grapefruit combined with a thick piney aroma. Taste is phenomenal. Absolutely one of the best IPAs I have ever had! Taste resembles the smell of balsam fir trees, and reminds me of... no,... not Christmas,... but shearing Christmas trees as a teenager. Mouthfeel is a lot like the nose over the top, slap you up, I AM an IPA. You will pucker up on this beer.

Overall, I would absolutely seek this beer out, because until you find something else like it, you won't find anything else like it.

A - hazy peach colored ale topped with a creamy off-white head
S - fruity aroma with plenty of toasted grain and bready malt; milder citrus and pine
T - actually sweet and malty up front with caramel, bread, and toasted grain; bitter pine and grapefruit follow and completely punish the palate with bitterness
M - medium-full body, resinous and drying, while the pine lingers on. Alcohol is a bit warming but not overly hot
O - nice, unique IPA. Definitely gives the palate a whoopin' with the hops, but there are nice flavors with a solid and present malt backbone here.

Pours a very hazy blend of some combination of amber, orange, and gold. The smell is mostly pine with a faint hint of something floral and citrusy. I get a smooth, very full mouthfeel along with a huge bite of intense piney bitterness. The pine carries into the aftertaste. Bitter and piney are the two words to describe this beer, and you will love it or hate it depending on how you feel about those two words.

(Served in a tulip glass)
A- This beer pours a hazy orange body with a thick ring of white and a few bubbles trailing up the sides.

S- The green woody hops lead to some herbal hop aromas and a pineapple weed hint in the finish.

T- Nice malt sweetness is soon covered by a full green herbal flavor with some slight pungent hop finish. A slight sweetness in the finish leads to a slight bitterness with some unripe fruit hops.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a gentle fizz and no alcohol heat.

O- Nice full delicious hops flavor with a good malt sweetness to support it. The bitterness is gentle enough to make this quite drinkable by the pint.

Appearance: Slightly hazy gold, good head.

Smell: Juicy citrus rind, hint of herbal.

Taste: Dry citrus bitterness, moderate to heavy bitterness. Starts to give a hint of garlic/herbal flavor.

Overall: An interesting take on the IPA from O'so. The garlic/herbal flavor starts to come through but stays in the background where it gives a nice counterpoint to the citrus bitterness. I normally don't like the hop that gives the garlic/onion flavor, but here it works.

poured 12oz bottle into teku.

A - Dark rust orange with a solid 1.5 finger white head that leaves almost no ring behind. Some lacing on the glass.

S - This is borderline IIPA. Nice dank, floral pungent hops. Hints of citrus and big pine. This really showcases the dank hops and hides the malt.

T - Hit up front with bitter and dank hops. I'm not a fan of garlic onion flavor and don't really notice it as others have commented. I get more floral, earthy, and bitter hops with some pine and citrus mixed in. The malt is definitely there, but still hides behind the big hop profile. This could really pass as a IIPA.

M - Sticky and resinous with nice body and decent carbonation. Lingering bitterness on the finish.

O - Nice effort Oso. I enjoy the flavor of this dank IPA and usually stay away from these. Best to drink this one fresh. Too bad there is no date on the bottle.

Hop Whoopin pours a hazy golden color, with very small head. Their is a slightly floral. The taste has a sharp hoppyness, bitter and then finishes rather sweet. Nice subtle malty backbone. Nice carbonation, could be a bit dryer. Overall a nice IPA, a sweeter hoppy flavor does make it unique.

Excellent IPA. Big IBU yet the mouth feel was what I would call tangy, very drinkable stuff well crafted. A generous amount of lasting head, not foaming up but ready set to drink. A little cloudy golden. Mango, grapefruit, resiny. Bottle from 20 West Wine and Spirits.

Appearance: Can't ask for a better looking IPA. Bright amber with a little haze from yeast sediment. Medium white head that lingers.

Smell: Lots of citrus aromas, most notably grapefruit. Also some sweetness from the malt. Really clean. The aromas meld really well. Almost verging on fruity.

Taste: Tastes much like it smells. Up front citrus with tangerine and grapefruit. Bitterness coats the mouth throughout with a little bitterness toward the back of the mouth. A little different than other IPAs in that respect. A little piney and resiny as well.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and without any noticeable abrasive or astringent notes. Surprisingly easy to drink for a malty IPA.

Overall: Very tasty in my opinion. As a single malt and single hop beer (S.M.A.S.H.), I'm impressed by the balance they were able to attain. But it works really well with the hops they used (Summit apparently) as it's not overwhelmed by citrus. I'd say it rivals some of the West Coast IPAs that everyone loves (I'd say it could easily go toe to toe with anything Lagunitas does). Highly recommended!

12oz bottle.

Pour hazy copper with a half inch head of white. A partial skim coat and some elongated dots of lacing for the duration.

Aromatics lead off with citrus and pine resins. Grapefruit, tangerine, and tropical fruits aplenty.

Medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel.

Pungent, resinous hops start the palate. Quite piney with apricots, mango, and tangerine zest. Light malt to balance on medium bitterness. Dry and tropical in nature.

Finishes with a drying bitterness under plenty of pine and tropical fruit.

Really nice beer, although the nose is a bit subdued. The hops on the palate though are right on and quite tasty.
