On tap at Old Fashioned, Madison. Sadly, in a shaker pint, so can hardly smell it at all. And the top three ounces are incredibly flat and watery.

Not until you get passed that initial layer (say, 5 sips) does the Night Train show itself. With a little more carbonation and coffee flavor in the mid-section of the beer, it would satisfy anyone looking for a mid-weight imperial porter.

I must say, though, I'm done with Nitro pours. The "appeal" of the nitro technology is that it makes the beer "smoother" -- read, "watery". Aimed at younger drinkers.

Found this on tap at eddies taphouse in sun prairie, wi. The bartender said they had a keg of night train lying around and an open nitro tap. Great combination!!

A- dark. Exceptionally dark for a porter. Just a slight hint of ruby when held to the light. A thick creme head sat on this puppy the entire session

S- light roasted malt with a touch of sweetness. Somewhat subdued but still intriguing.

T- the nitro changes this beer to another beast. Its truly brings out a rich dark caramel flavor with just a touch of roast and even a little bit of spicyness. Toffee and a hint of coffee even out the end. Very tasty. I enjoyed this much more on nitro.

M- fantastic due to the nitro. Fluffy with tiny bubbles and lighter carbonation. Melts in your mouth, if that makes sense.

O- very good. Almost ordered a bottle of a milk stout but enjoyed this a ton. Rich roast and sweet toffe. No hops present. No prob. Sooo delicious on nitro. If you're lucky enough to find it, get it. Even better than regular night train, which is good.

On tap at Blue Moon in Madison, Wisconsin. Served in a pint glass 11/11/2014.

A- Dark cola brown, nearly black body with a beautiful tan nitro head. Silky smooth, I just want to dive into this beer even though it means I'll get a nitro mustache. [4]

S- Not as intense on the nose as the normal Night Train, but there is definitely a nice creamy milk chocolate scent to it, along with a solid roast presence. Nothing particularly complicated, but that's nitro for you. [3.5]

F- Rich nuttiness, smooth milk chocolate, plenty of roast, earthy hoppiness. Nice complexity, nothing too complex but nice for such an easy drinking beer like this. [4]

M- Smooth, creamy nitro feel. Almost medium bodied, very easy to drink. Nice flavours on the backend, including cocoa and milk chocolate balancing each other out. Nice beer, even taking into account the nitro. [4.25]

O- Smooth, creamy, nutty and roasty experience. I enjoyed this one a lot. [4]
