This is a good double IPA...zingy, big hops up front--orange and resiny hop oils, pine and all that good stuff, but smooth and creamy. Mouthfeel is thick, but finishes medium with lots of dank hop oils. This is a big beer, lots of malty goodness to back up those hops.

You don't get a big nose (scent) from a double IPA, but you taste those hops, and this beer brings it!

12 oz can poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Deep, dark but clear amber with a billowing head of bear white foam and sticky lace. Aromas and of pine resin and caramel. Full, malty body with a backbone of caramel carrying a wallop of piney hope and burn of brazen alcohol. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A rich, boozy IPA that delivers was ABV as IBU.

22 oz. bottle:

Pours slightly hazed amber with a fluffy lasting head. Trailing lace.

The smell is a mix of leafy hops and malt liquor-like maltiness and alcohol. Boozy. Raw. Slight earthy tone.

The taste is of raw/astringent floral/leafy hops with caramelized malts and strong alcohol. There is a bland leafy character in the finish.

Drinkability is higher than expected Good carbonation level.

It's decent enough. It could be less boozy even for the high abv level. It could have more flavor, as the hops give more bitterness than flavor. It's alright overall.

Ye IPA drinkers beware! This beer will fill yer booty! Looks are the best things about this one, Dark orange and slightly hazy color with creamy head. Smells of a mixture of malts and fresh hops. Tastes very malty with some hints of caramel and a nice weedy finish. Unfortunately though I felt a little nauseous after this heavy IPA, so I wouldn't recommend drinking this if ye have a weak stomach.

From old, undated notes. Poured from the bottle.

Clear red-orange color.

Off-white head; thick lacing.

Caramel malts meet grapefruit notes.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Smooth grains meet mild citrus-booze is extremely well hidden.

Not crazy flavorful but crazy drinkable. I'd have another.

Wow. Got a quart of this in a can. Talk about shotgun goals. Has as much alcohol in one can as a six pack of Bud light. Solid deal considering that, as it was only $8.

L: Pours beautifully into a goblet with thick bands of white lacing and a slightly hazy amber body that glows red-orange in light. Thick and heavy consistency. Looks rich and smells hoppy.

S: Pineapple, peach, yellow grapefruit, mango, and passion fruit saunter out in a congo line with lemon and basil on the tail end, followed by whole grain bread and barley malt.

T: Creamy and rich, with mango and coconut easing into a tart and bitter fruity hop character of yellow grapefruit, pineapple, passion and herbal basil with a touch of lemon peel on the finish. Yum.

F: Very smooth and drinkable for the rich, viscous body.

O: I'm definitely taking one of these "Cannons" to Lightning in a Bottle. And I'm gonna drink it out of the Cannon.

Hazy amber color. Good lacing. Carmel malt hints. Hoppy! Hoppy finish with a small amount of alcohol bite. Piney, citrus smell. A good DIPA. Agressive.

Pours a hazy amber, with a finger and a half head of bubbles willowy-fine. Proper lacing.

A most sour scent. Citrus bliss.

Following the nose ... delivers the Creamy-sour malt crush, which we crave. Just half a hint of grapefruit. Lingering malt-pine.

(D) IPA s have so many alchemical accents, this one works quite well for me!

(Just smashed a giant 1 Quart/32 fluid ounce Can of this brutal brew ... shiver me timbers!!)
