Pours a clear copper color with a slight haze and a big frothy 2 finger tan head that faded very slowly, leaving excellent creamy lacing coating the sides of the glass.

Smell of grapefruit, sweet oranges, citrus hops, mango, piney hops, herbs, flowers, caramel, sweet malt or grains, brown sugar, spices and some faint alcohol; this is a citrus fiesta that is quite strong and spicy, almost spells like dry hops are floating in the glass.

Tastes like it smells with a blast of citrus hops up front, including grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, mango, pineapple, piney hops, herbs, grass, floral hops, coriander, pepper, caramel, sweet malt, lightly roasted grains, brown sugar, allspice and other spices, and some alcohol throughout; the sweet oily citrus hops keep the ABV in check, and while this is hop dominant it does not seem unbalanced and was actually pretty drinkable considering the mild heat and spices.

Mouthfeel is heavy, chewy and thick, with a slick feel on the tongue, a medium to heavy body, light carbonation, and a sweet bitter aftertaste that lingered with fruity citrus flavors.

Low drinkability, as this is a sipper, but I’d certainly drink it again factoring in the strength of this beer and how well the sweetness covered the alcohol. A real nice DIPA that may be a tad bit too sweet, but hopheads will love the complexity and high ABV kick. Another fine product out of San Diego.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Cigar City pint glass.

A: Deep copper color, nearly clear. A big burst of carbonation with a good size white head directly after the pour, but both quickly subside.

S: Resin, pine, more subdued grapefruit with a good amount of sweet bready malts and mild caramel aspects.

T: Resin and pine bitter, maybe some citrus pith hops up front. The malt sweetness comes back nicely and they both fade together after the swallow, with the hop bitterness lasting a bit longer.

M: Medium body for style, lower carbonation than most, alcohol noticeable but well-masked for this ABV.

O: Pretty unobjectionable, but pretty forgettable at the same time. It strikes me as a good exemplar of the new "average" for American DIPAs. The aroma could use some help - pretty low on the nose for a DIPA. I'm not going out to buy a 4-pack (or 6, or whatever they come in), but I wouldn't mind drinking some on tap somewhere if it's what they had.

A: Pours a beautiful amber color with a small head that dissipates quickly. Moderately heavy carbonation.

N: Toffee, pine, citrus and rye.

T: Pine and toffee upfront followed by candy sugar, orange citrus and pine. Leaves a rye tasting linger.

M: Fulll bodied, somewhat sticky and dry.

O: Alcohol is well hidden. Nicely balanced with a slight bitter bite. A nice DIPA but maybe a little too heavy on the toffee flavors; leads to some strange medicinal flavors.

Orange with significant radiance this brew had a proud thick head. The collaring was thick and creamy and congealed.

The aroma has alot of malt with some relative sweetness. I find hints of so many odd things such as pecan, lemongrass, honey, roasted cracker and iced tea.

I had some high expectations but seem to get a lot of alcohol. It overpowers the fundamental elements of the style and ends quite metallic. I let it air out and begin to get the malt and grain but still find little hop character. This beer is pretty fresh so I'm not concerned with that point it just comes across so brash. The feel is not nearly as harsh with a little alcohol warmth but it's smooth enough.

Paid $5 for a 12 oz bottle and got a nice buzz from the 9percent ABV but it sure doesn't hide it.

Had on tap at the Praying Monk in Scottsdale Arizona. Fresh and hoppy. Pineapple and candy on the nose. Nice head with decent retention. Lots of lacing and sticky mess in the glass. Well balanced for such high alcohol. Enjoyed and would come back to this.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy copper orange with a medium creamy off-white head that goes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is subdued - some resiny hops and alcohol.

The flavor is a little sweet malt with a ton of sharp bitter alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, I remember this being much better on tap. All I get is bland bitter alcohol.

Poured from a draft into a pint glass at San Diego Brewing Company on March 16, 2012. Color was hazy caramel. About one finger of head. Light film on lacing on the top. Even amount of cobweb film on the sides.

Got a deep whiff of citrus hops, probably lemon. Fairly balanced but nothing too special overall.

Not too much citrus in the taste, but very bitter. Can really taste the alcohol. Kind of smooth. Lots of different things going on in the taste.

Medium body. Slight texture. Average carbonation,. Bitter, but smooth finish.

Just an OK double IPA. It had its moments but I wouldn’t go out of my way to have another one.

Pours a golden hazed amber hue with a creamy dimple laden two finger ever present head and some bubbly clingy lacing,on pouring the bottle I immediately am assaulted by the resinous pine, gooseberries and toffeeish malts, the mouthfeel is full bodied with moderate carbonation and the taste definitely packs a punch of stringent bitter piney resinous hops, some herbal harshness,a sweet cameo of toffeeish malts and finished with a berry bittersweetness and overall it's average nothing over the top and better ones out there cheers.

12 oz bottle was poured into a snifter at Frank n Steins in Orlando.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a slightly hazy pale orange color with great clarity of bubbles coming up through the glass. Nice lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Floral, grassy, citrus, candied orange, herbal, caramel, and bready malts.

Taste: Same as above with mild bitterness in the rear. Nice warm booze. Hops held up well and malts help balance things out.

Mouthfeel: Sipper, full bodied, bitterness, some booze, and medium carbonation.

Overall: Pretty nice DIPA. Got better with time and getting warmer.
