Well its hard to get the aroma with the douchebag sitting next to smelling like a quarter bottle of Drakar Noir. But...light citrus hop aroma and some cereal grain. Pretty neutral for an IPA in these parts.

orange colored with a good thick white head but a little cloudy.

Nice citrus hop bite right off. Then its sweet with some caramel malt flavor. Aftertaste is resiny hop oil.

Medium bodied with good carbonation.

Overall, a decent IPA. Balanced malt and hops.

Trade Route unveiled this IPA at their taphouse opening party. The beer should never have been unveiled. It should be veiled.

Last I knew, Trade Route was using a dry Nottingham ale yeast in their ales. I don't know if the Nottingham is used here, but the yeast is non-flocculent. It's not merely that the beer is unfiltered. It's like a dark, auburn colored opaque hefeweizen and looks like fresh apple cider. The taste is tawdry, tart, sour, and overly bitter, with a correspondingly convoluted aroma. Nothing about this beer bears a resemblance to an IPA. It is overly citric with a lime-like tartness (no actual lime is used) and shows no malt structure.

Challenging to approach let alone appreciate.
