Stopped in here during a recent visit to Philly.

Atmosphere is very old school. Exposed brick lines the walls and a long bar takes up half the width of the bar. A jukebox sits along the right side and tables are in the back. Upstairs there is a good deal of room with additional tables, and even one more floor up are the bathrooms. A good deal of glassware and old bottles sit behind the bar.

Quality is good. All beer is served in proper glassware and some beers even have specific glassware, such as Yard's Love Stout. The temperature is appropriate and head levels are just right.

Service is very good. The bartender and I discussed a couple of beers and it was evident he had a good deal of knowledge about what he was doing. I never had to wait long to order a drink and the food came out quickly.

Selection is also very good. There's a good cross-section of styles on-tap, mixing up locals, the west coast's finest, and a few imports from the continent.

Food is solid. I ordered chicken tacos and was surprised at how robust they were. They weren't exceptional but they're good enough that I'd consider coming back just for the food.

Value is good. I had lunch and a few drinks for a reasonable price, nothing more and nothing less than elsewhere in the city.

Overall this was my first stop in Center City and it didn't disappoint. It wasn't quite my favorite place in town (Monk's followed closely by Varga) but it's somewhere I'd certainly consider visiting again. Worth a stop.

I've been here 3 times. Service is always good. Ate here once, and the food was small and pricey, but darn tasty. Always a decent taplist, and they host very solid events, especially during Philly Beer Week. Bathroom is 2 flights up stairs, just so you know! If you are travelling for beer in Philly, and going solely on what is on tap, there are typically better options. But it couldn't hurt to stop in and see what is on.

On 15th street- Center City, surrounded by a ton of restaurants and bars. Unassuming from the outside, but it’s got two levels of drinking and eating. I skipped the street-level bar because it was busy with suit-and-tie types and went up to the second floor, which was empty.

The food menu has some cool food (pork belly bahn mi taco, fluke tiradito) but there is nothing really affordable. My tiradito was nice but really small at eleven dollars, and I found two bones on the fish.

I was there for the mezcal and it didn’t disappoint- good selection, but expensive. Beer-wise, they’ve got a couple of good beers but nothing crazy: Weyerbacher Verboten, Allagash White, Yards Pale Ale, Upright #4, Boon Framboise, Duck Rabbit, Left Hand, St Feuillien Tripel.

I loved the music, a selection of classics ranging from Bob Dylan to the Stones. Cool, tried-and-true shit. Service was very good, but of course I was the only customer. Nice girl behind the bar, she bought me a beer.

I would come back here for the mezcal, but not necessarily for the beer or the food. Nothing wrong with Pistolas, though! It's a fun joint.

I've only been in this place once and I wasn't a huge fan. It's a two story bar, with a basic layout and atmosphere. The bathrooms are on the third floor, which is actually like 5 flights of stairs up, so it's hot as hell up there, plus if you have a few drinks in you, stumbling up and/or down that stairway isn't too fun...wait as long as possible to break the seal, I guess is the take-home message there.

Anyway, the beer list is decent. Mostly local stuff, micro standards, some Belgians. They seem to get good events here once in a while, and there was some leftover Everett on when I visited, so that was a no-brainer. I think most fans of this bar like it because they used to get Cantillon once in a while before the ungodly craze started.

Service was fine. I didn't sample the food, but it seemed like your basic Mexican-style fare. Prices were on the steeper side, though not ridiculous.

Overall, I don't see myself going here often or ever again, considering there are so many other better bars within walking distance.

We stopped by here for some beers and late night burritos. We sat at the tables in the back of the first floor. Upstairs on the second floor there was a second bar and a live band playing.

Beer selection was pretty solid, with a diverse selection of American craft beer plus a Belgian or two. Server was friendly and managed to memorize our group's entire order.

Burritos were simply amazing, I had the spicy pork and to date it's the best burrito I've ever had. Definitely will be heading back here.
