A clear chestnut colored beer. A low off-white head with small lacing and some curtains.
Smelling of grain, nuts, apple, resin and hay.
Tasting of brown bread, bitter orange, nuts, clove and hint of sweet licorice.
Low carbonation, a soft texture. A small body with a slight dry finish.
A calm balanced brew.

The colour is dark wine red-brown; the two finger head is firm and beige. Lots of lacing.
The malty smell is roasted and sweet with some smoked hints.
The taste includes notes of lightly smoked malt, robust yet clear flavours of hops and caramel/nougat. It is overall very balanced and impressive gulpable. The aftertaste is clear and fresh with notes of dark toast and some toffee, chocolate and liquorice.
The carbonation is fresh and medium strong; the bubbles are small. The liquid is mid-smooth.
Solid ale. Christmas? Well... Why not?
