When pouring the beer, it has a black-brown color. Beige foam with large bubbles. The foam disappeared really fast and leave no trace. The smells of roasted malt. Then comes some aromas of coffee, chocolate, a little rub and a little caramel. Some hint of a smoke odor. The piece of the scent is a little thin. One feels the roasted malt pretty fast. Then comes the flavors of roasted coffee, chocolate and a little bitterness. But there is little caramel, nuts and some spices. Finds little thin flavors of dried fruit, and little acidity. The balance is not real, and that the flavors are fine for the style. Medium body. Lightweight carbon dioxide, with small bubbles. Something small dry and light taste.

Dark brown (near-black) beer, pours with a frothy head, which dissipates to a 0.5cm ring. Very slight bitterness and some coffee aroma and some caramel taste. The beer is quite smooth and light, with a pleasant lingering aftertaste that is sour and bitter.

Black, with a beautiful foam, cappuccino colored.
At the nose a light and soft toasted, cappuccino, almost milk.
In the mouth too, toasted notes, but strong cappuccino. It almost seems a milk porter.
Anyweay, pleasant and drinkable, with some toasted aftertaste.

500ml bottle into Duvel tulip.
A: Pitch black in colour, 3 finger creamy head and decent lacing. Looks good.
S: VERY chocolatey, hints of coffee and liqourice, smokey smells, and medicinal aromas. Amazing smell, very complex.
T: Not at all as complex as the smell but still tasty. I got chocolate, smoke, malty sweetness.
M: It's smooth and it goes down easy, but with a light body. Slightly carbonated.
Overall: Not bad. Smells fantastic, but the taste and mouthfeel don't quite deliver. I'm interested in this brewer's other beers now though.

The beer is black, with a thick tan head leaving good lacing.
The smell is initially intensely roasted coffee beans, then dark toast and some sweet dried fruits.
Tasting of burned dark bread, smoked sausage, the dried figs and a dash of cold coffee.
Medium carbonation, small bubbles, soft and rich body, smooth and oily, a nice dry finish.
This was a really nice well balanced porter, with coffee installed.

Bottle poured into Grolsch pint glass in low altitude Cork, Ireland. Bottle acquired in Abbott's Alehouse off-license in Cork, Ireland. Reviewed from notes.
A: Four finger head of tan colour, lovely cream, brilliant thickness, and commendable retention. Standard porter black colour with tan tones. Very appealing, especially for a stout & porter lover like meself.
Sm: Coffee, caramel, chocolate. Nicely layered and complex.
T: The hoppy notes from the nose - coffee, caramel, and chocolate, nicely balanced in the body. The roast on the finish is inadequate to close out the beer. Some toffee is present. The big problem arises in the climax, wherein the beer begins to fall apart. The finish fails to uphold the balance.
Mf: Smooth and dry - perfect for the style. A bit more wetness on the open would be ideal.
Dr: Pretty pricey by Irish standards, but a very good beer overall. Not an ideal porter in terms of its mouthfeel, but definitely worth a go.

The colour is black (100 EBC), the fine head is pale brown is three finger head. It is a bit too dark for me.
The semi-sweet smell got malty roasted notes, some nuts and a hint of smoke.
The taste got mellow roasted notes. Some cocoa and a mild sourness. Fresh light clean bitter notes and hints of cream and caramel. Some passing fruity flavours. The aftertaste is clean with a soft bitterness and roasted nuts.
The carbonation is medium strong, the bubbles small. The liquid is ligt to medium,
A nice porter, although I had wished for some more complex flavours.
