May 2013: 500 ml bottle at Lompa Friluft, Oslo. ABV is 5.0%. Beautiful reddish brown, colour, low off-white head. Moderate malty aroma with toast and a hint of chocolate. Soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Lovely flavour, well balanced between the malts (brown bread, toast, lightly roasted notes of chocolate and coffee) and hops (elderflowers, grapefruit, pine). Smooth to drink.

5.5% 2020 version, and it's very much an English Brown Ale as of now.

When pouring the beer, it has a red-brown color. Beige / white foam with large bubbles. The foam disappeared at a leisurely pace, leaving little thin track. The aroma gives quite roasted tones, malty with caramel. But even some grass and some bitterness with a little caramel aromas. A little smoke and thin hop aroma toward the end. Some lemon and grapefruit, I suspect. The taste gives pretty toasted notes of malt, hops tones feels fresh and creeps. But then comes the caramel again. A little grapefruit, apricot, a little apple. Some grass and some bitterness. Medium body. Carbonation is medium strong. The fluid is light and dry, but much butter feeling.

The beer is dark copper hued, has an off-white firm small head, some lacing. Small curtains.
Smelling faintly of toffee, honey and pears.
Sweet bread with syrup, grass and ripe apples, bitter apple seeds.
Medium carbonation, fresh and smooth feeling, a medium body and a dry smooth finish.
A nice honest ale!

The colour is warm brown, the liquid is clear. The finger thick head is compact, it leaves lots of lacing.
The smell is malty with hints of smoke and grapefruit-hoppy flavours. Dried fruits, citric notes and some Digistive biscuits. Fresh hops. There is a weak sourness, too. It is a bit hard to get into this beer.
The taste is pleasantly hopped, I notice some American grapefruit hops. Fresh hops, too. And hints of roasted malts; apricots, earth and dark rye bread. Some stout-like malty flavours in the aftertaste, earthy hints and a soft bitterness and weak hints of dry-sour fruits.
The carbonation is medium strong; small bubbles. The liquid is light and dry.
A good ale with some earthy brown ale-flavours and a delicious combination of hops.
