Comes in oval shaped bottle (nice feel). Starts off with an aroma that smells likes prunes (not a bad smell). Pours with no head and no carbonation. Appears a very cloudy medium brown. Very mild bite. Distinctive mild prune flavoring comes through on taste. Very easy, light drinking. This is a reasonable beer, but I much prefer a more bite and a little better balance on the bock malting flavors.

Amber brown. Topped with 5 fingers of beige head. Hazy with a little carbonation.

Toasted toffee, hints of coffee and creme brulee.

Creme brulee, toasted toffee, notes of coffee.

Slightly syrupy body, moderate, foamy carbonation.

Got at Beer Lab, Chiang Mai. Drank July 29th, 2016. Really good brew, highly enjoyable.

From the bottle stamped 11-20123-423. Sampled on December 22, 2013.

It pours a cloudy medium amber-copper with a short-lived cream colored head. It looks the way it should.

There is a good supply of caramel malts on the nose with a slight sweetness and also a biting licorice thing to balance it out. Little to no hop note.

The body falls somewhere between thin to medium. It was alright.

Lots of roasted malts express themselves in the taste and that is the main thing beyond anything else. No hop bitterness and overall on the smooth side.

This beer is a full-tilt malt bomb. It is a reddish, ruddy brew with a lot of yeast haze. The aroma has a sweet, malted smell, with a ready, yeasty scent. The taste is notably, intensely sweet. Loads of refined malt....think spray dried malt extract. The body is full. Not a lot of complexity....it is as it is named, a sweet, red beer.

Poured from 33 cl bottle bought in Italy.

A – Bottle-conditioned and in an interestingly-shaped bottle. Color is medium brown and is reddish-orange when held up to light. Just slightly cloudy. The head is tan, thick and fluffy and lasts. It is made up of tiny bubbles and laces very well.

S – Aroma is dominated by intense malt. There is a bread overtone that smells slightly nutty and spicy, almost like rye. This is followed by a raisin- and prune-infused sweet aroma. No hops in the aroma. There is also some alcohol lurking. This beer’s aroma resembles a Doppelbock in all the good ways.

T – The flavor follows the aromas and is dominated by malt. Again there is a slightly spicy grain note and lots of brown sugar sweetness overlaid by serious fig, prune and raisin fruity sweetness. There is just a hint of some hops in the background, but not enough to identify the type. There is a hint of alcohol. Fairly complex.

M – Medium to heavy body. Light to moderate hops bitterness. Smooth carbonation is subtle but definitely there. No alcohol burn.

O – This is a complex malt bomb, verging on too sweet, but good for a malt lover like me. I don’t know if this is an ale or lager, but the resemblance to a German Doppelbock is uncanny.

Pours deep ruby amber,with actual separation of darker and lighter areas. Skim tan head, clingy lace. This almost looks like a black and tan.

Big cherry and rich malty nose.

This screams bock. Fruit and rich malt up front. Some woody cherry, brown bread, moderate bitterness, a hint of cocoa. Malty and mildly bitter in the finish.

Medium to medium full body.

Nice brew. Very drinkable and true to style.

Poured slightly chilled into a snifter.

Pours a hazy brown color with half an inch of light tan head that recedes leaving a moderate surface layer and lacing.

Smells of carmelized sugars and toasted grains with a hint of fruity sweetness from the hops.

Flavors follow throuh from the aromas with a touch of an earthy, mineral background.

Medium to heavy bodied with a moderate carbonation and a sweet creamy finish.

My first Italian beer and I have to say I'm impressed. A little pricey to be in my regular rotation, but will definitely try again.

Pours coppery brown with a large lasting head. Noses shows toasty malt, nutty hints, chocolate and faint caramel. Flavours include toasty malt, faint roasty characters and savoury notes. Seems a little disjointed. Metallic notes in the finish. Carbonation is a little full-on.

Poured into a pilsner glass.

A - Nice cloudy, amber-orange color. Lots of head.

S - Nothing special but definitely not off-putting.

T - A very solid, easy to drink beer. Hides the alchohol well. Nicely balanced and flavorful.

M - Solid again. Not light at all. Creamy, would pair very well with food.

O - This is a very nice brew making me want to try their others (especially the Marzen). Captures the bock style extremely well. A great value compared to so many other Italian beers that carry a pretty big price tag. Worth checking out.

11.1 oz bottle dated best by 8-2013 poured into a Sam Adams lager glass.

The sound upon opening suggested high carbonation, which seemed confirmed upon pouring: it had a huge head that prevented a full pour of the 11.1 oz bottle into a 16+ oz glass. Under the tan head is a hazy red-amber brew that did not smell appealing, with notes of wet clay, rotting wood, milk chocolate and soap. The taste is much better, although not great. Flavor flaws included being overly sweet and a touch musty. Aside from these, there is a decent flavor of caramel malt but essentially no sign of hops.

M: Medium body; slightly astringent. Carbonation adds crispness and does not seem too high in terms of mouthfeel.

O: avoid.

Nice nose! Caramel, light bittersweet chocolate, with a light coffee roast. Quite satisfactory.

Pours an opaque dark tan (orange and light brown) color, it almost looks like polished leather. The head is light tan in color and diminishes quickly, although not all the way and still hangs around the edge of the glass. No speakable lacing.

WOW! This is stellar in flavor, it really packs it in. At first sip, I get a toffee hint with some earthiness to it. The true flavor comes in after the finish which is a punch in the mouth with chocolate, caramel, and toffee. It's nutty, roasty, and delicious.

A lot of carbonation, it almost foams on my tongue, medium-full body. I think I kind of love this beer. I wasn't nuts with their pilsner, but this Bock is as good if not better than some German Bocks.

Big thanks goes out to beeruser for sharing this one at a recent tasting! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller oversized wine glass. Poured a murky brownish orange with a minimal off-white head. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, and sugar. The flavor was of sweet malt, caramel, cream, sugar, and wood. It had a light feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a truly average brew. Nothing on this one really stood out at you and made you want to come back sip after sip. It was definitely better than the previous brew from this brewery we tasted, but not by much. The aroma and flavor here was very one-dimensional to me with not a lot going on at all. Would not suggest this one to my friends unless I wanted to see their faces upon inspection. Tick.
